Canadian Civilians Fighting ISIS (including threats to YPG)

This looks like a 21st century version of the International Brigade that fought in the Spanish Civil War. I wish the guys that go over the best of luck and a better result than those of 80 years ago.

Canadian Model Soldiers just released. R4A Miniatures

Maybe consider Gunners? There were Canadian M7 self propelled Priests that landed on D-Day (I think 19th Field was one of the Regts but Old Sweat will correct me if I'm wrong). If you want to shy away from vehicles, how about a FOO party?

    Forward observer

I am not a recruiter but I am an artillery officer. A FOO party is comprised of an officer, the FOO and several NCMs depending on what is going on. These jobs include: an OP Detachment Commander, OPDC, (MBdr/Sgt), a Det 2I/C (MBdr), a driver (Gnr/Bdr) and a tech (Gnr/Bdr). There may also be a...

Why is it Canadians do so well in battle?

I tend to define "decisive" in the positive rather then the negative. That is, rather than the loss of a battle resulting in the loss of the war, a decisive battle is one in which winning the battle leads to victory in the war. I think that my understanding of this term is probably shaped by...

Why is it Canadians do so well in battle?

Don't forget the Pacific Theater battles. The Battle of Midway and The Battle of the Philippine Sea (The Great Marianas Turkey Shoot) both destroyed the IJN and effectively sealed the fate of Japan.

RPAS (was JUSTAS): the project to buy armed Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) UAVs

“Had a (UAV) capability existed it would have been utilized in most, if not all, recent natural disasters,” said an April 2013 slide presentation drawn up by the project management office Ah, but a UAV capability DOES exist. The army UAV program is humming along just fine with the MUAV coming...

Religion in the Canadian Forces & in Canadian Society

There is a CANFORGEN that covers this. It's CANFORGEN 162/12 and while most CANFORGENs are not readily available on the internet, the Routine Orders of a certain reserve unit are and they explain the policy. Available here: http://www.salh.net/docs/ROs/SALH%20RO%202013-01.pdf Key points though...

Seen on Flat bed heading west of Ottawa, M109?

Until such time that we find ourselves fighting anyone with any kind of credible artillery/ counter battery capability or trying to provide fire support to an armoured BG on the advance. Unless those things happen then yes, you are correct.

    Jtrans Artillery Questions- Merged

There are also some for OP stream folks. Generally speaking, artillery are able to do most of the specialty courses available to any other trade that is not trade specific.

M109's are not coming back to the Canadian gunners any time soon and probably never.

    'Older' games on newer OSs

Try running it through DosBox http://www.dosbox.com/download.php?main=1. Not sure about the joystick issue but sometimes with older games you need to dumb down your computer a bit. DosBox is great for that. I play the V4V series, great game BTW, using it.

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

The same can be said of any post-secondary institution. I remember that there were a bunch of people who graduated with very high marks from my graduating class in High School who then went off to university and promptly failed out. (Usually due to excessive partying). Moving out of home for the...

Job opportunities for civilian boyfriend in Borden?

Borden is close to Barrie and Aliston where there is a ton of employment. There is also quite a bit of seasonal, low-skilled work in the Collingwood area. There are certainly worse places to be looking for a job.
