    Swearing In...

Well, I am now a member of this glorious country‘s army! :D I was there for 2 hours (from 1900-2100). I got sized for my kit and was told that I would get a call in about 2 weeks when it is available. I was sworn-in in the Officer‘s Mess with two other guys. The CO came up and we...

    Swearing In...

Thanks. I am planning on wearing a collared golf shirt. What is it called now if it isn‘t QL2 and QL3??? I imagine that my regiment could have quite a bit of kit because they have a huge room for the QM. One other question, how many other people generally might I expect to be sworn in with?

    Swearing In...

Tomorrow night I am being sworn into the Army. I have a few questions about it: What does this process involve? What do I wear? Will I be issued my kit the same night? I am going to be doing my QL2 and QL3 Infantry this summer at Meaford.

Cadets vs Boy Scouts (role, "child soldiers", etc.)

The general public does not like seeing little 12 year olds running around (or doing drill) with weapons. This is what I was told... I think that a resolution would be to form an Canadian Army Cadet Force, like the British one. This one would emphasize more Army activities. I don‘t think...

Cadets vs Boy Scouts (role, "child soldiers", etc.)

I agree, that is one of the reasons I left. I tryed to improve my corps by planning FTXs that were all patrolling and one big weekend long capture the flag game. My Training Officer supported them, but not my CO (the computers officer). Then we got a new training officer from a different...

    Recruitment

I had to do this stupid stair stepping thing for 3 minutes, then again for another three minutes but faster after my blood pressure was taken. I barely broke a sweat with that. The push-ups are a little harder then what people think, but I still passed that. The sit-ups are a breeze.

    Recruitment

Wow, I am finished everything. I started at the end of January. I just had my medical and physical last wednesday and they said the results of my medical would go up to Borden and my regiment would phone and offer me a job in about two weeks when they have seen my file. I think you should...

Reserve QL2 & QL3 (the old basic traininig)

Se7en: My school has aptitude tests that you can take through guidance, spatial included. That will prepare you for that section.

Reserve QL2 & QL3 (the old basic traininig)

He only had time to explain to me what QL2/3/4 etc. were and not enough time to answer how long.

Reserve QL2 & QL3 (the old basic traininig)

I am still in the application process (passed my aptitude test and interview with highest recommendation! Have my medical/phyiscal wed. night) and trying to get my training this summer. Do you know how long the QL2 and QL3 will take and what I should expect?

    GHOST RECON

http://silentstormmods.cjb.net/ That is where you can get the Canadian Mod. It is old and would be better if I didn‘t stop playing RS and UO. Right now I am concentrating on a Vietnam War mod for Half-Life called Tour of Duty (www.tourofdutymod.com).

    GHOST RECON

I tryed Ghost Recon and I quite enjoyed it. OP Flashpoint is also good too. Hey Enfield, did you ever try the Canadian Mod for Rogue Spear and Urban Ops? I made that one! Unfortuneatly, I was in cadets (Pte.) at the time and did not have as much of a thorough knowledge.

    drums

Yes, it is the tenor drum. I believe that you have to learn both the tenor and the bass because they are basically the same thing. Ask people in CLI if they remember Spearin. Tell them he is probably in Meaford doing his QL2! :D Pipes rule!

Canadian Army Reading List- 11+ Years Of Suggestions and Ideas

McAleese‘s Fighting Manual by Peter McAleese is a great book that provides information on section to platoon level tactics. It gives information on patrolling, ambushing, marksmanship, and more. It could be really hard to get, I found it in a Chapters store and have not seen it anywhere else...

    I‘m finally joining!

A liason to my cadet corps (a MCpl) said that I should apply now so that I could get to do something for the summer instead of waiting until my cadet year is over and having to wait until the next winter.
