    Europe

I think that realization is slowly occuring in many Republican members. Even in the Administration as it has again veered to some corrective action (too little too late ?) Trumps first term should have been a wake up call. As Europe fortifies its security posture, there will likely come a...

    Robert Duvall, 1931-2026, R.I.P.

He lived just a few miles from me, and we would drive by his home now and then. While I had not seen him in a while he used to be a regular at the rifle range. Usually shooting a M1 Garand, but he had a very nice collection. RIP.

Domestic and Arctic Mobility Enhancement Project

Until it snows and you have an ungodly slog. You can go from having a 10 man tent setup on hard pack that acts like a rocky outcrop in Sudbury, to tent nearly buried in a few hours in a storm. I like tracks.

Canada moves to 2% GDP end of FY25/26 - PMMC

Or you forget about it, and it sneaks up on you. In the town near me, the roads are awful and they just conducted a large median beautification project. I am constantly underwhelmed at what tax dollars are spent on

    Canada's tanks

Interesting article - but he misses a lot of issues inside DLA that cause the delays, as well as some other issues. Part of the issue is that various Commands have not set any expectation to DLA for demand, and thus no stock is kept. DLA routinely quotes units 5 months for parts that are on...

Canada moves to 2% GDP end of FY25/26 - PMMC

That is most of the West. We have been caught up in an immediate gratification circle, and fail to look beyond our noses. The Colosseum was designed to entertain and distract the masses... Maybe our grandkids will learn.

    The Shadow Fleet

Well Russia just admitted by their own government release that the shadow fleet is in fact a wholly owned subsidiary of USSR 2.0 regardless of the flags of convenience they fly.

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

Correct. It isn’t an option until it becomes the norm. There haven’t been any signals it won’t be an available option (or the only option eventually) for partners. Unless the build rate gets a significant hike, it’s basically vaporware.

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

Yes, but if the USAF had ordered the KC-47, Airbus would have been locked in to the -200 airframe for many more years, or eating the ECP cost and platform upgrade (replacement).

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

The KC-46 debacle is a thread to itself honestly. It’s a clear case of pork barreling, as the LocMart/Airbus offering was virtually a copy paste of the RCAF MRTT, except LocMart doing the conversions. The 767 isn’t a common airframe to the USAF/DoD so it served no point - and there could have...

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

Oh I had zero faith in the KC-46, Boeing was working at their own pace on that. Partially as the USAF had chosen the LocMart/Airbus offering and Congress forced the Boeing option , I think Boeing knew that there was no Not trying to overly grow simplify this, but it’s a radar replacing a...

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

Power/cooling requirements increased for the 85. TRL-3 birds have that. I gather there is also an effort between NG and LocMart to make a common interface mounting system- even outside of the USAF program. Any bird designed for the -85 should not have physical issues getting a -81 installed...

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

I'd like point out that Sik was not owned by LocMart back when you guys bought that bill of good referred to as the Cyclone... So the bad man who touched you was not wearing a LocMart shirt ;) It is pretty clear a lot of the newer MIC entities like to try to portray the established ones...

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

That is a US DoD decision. It was DoD/USAF not LocMart that made the decision to field the APG-85 radar without a solid build schedule. It is also the USAF who has cut testing numbers thus delaying integration of certain upgrades. Keep in mind the rest of the aircraft is fully functional --...

Oh the shy is falling, like 30 airframes don’t have radars whatever will the USAF do

But I suspect that in short order most of AH squadrons will be uncrewed working with a leader crewed system.

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

Only an issue for -85 customers. Which currently is only the USAF. The 81’s are going out the door fine - which are the export models at this point. It is still a great radar / just not as good as to what the -85 can offer (once they can be built in decent numbers). While I have...
