I always thought university education level was only important beyond the rank of maj. That going to Col and above required a masters degree or PhD.

I was reading a book on the Iraq War, 'Generation Kill', and the soldiers on the ground often compained that nightvision goggles lacked dept perception. Have there been any improvements in such technology lately? I'm asking because I'm not military, and that same gear saves their lives in the book.
No I'm not a "Fashion Queen". You're absolutely right though regarding equipment.
I was reading through the earlier posts about the US military's complaints about their uniforms and was wondering how we could make it better for our soldiers.
