The minimum standard for JTF2 is just that....the minimum.  Although achieving the minimum allows you to potentially make it onto selection.....the odds of making it through said selection if you can only do the minimum....are VERY low.

For the field portion you will have few, if any, tasks that require a knife.  Should you require one, however, your bayonet will more than suffice. Don't bring a knife to BMQ.  As for zippos....you don't need one of those either.

American: 1st SFOD Delta and Navy SEALS DEVGRU would probably be the closest equivalents to JTF2.  75th Ranger Regiment and the Green Berets is comparable to CSOR. Britain:  SAS = JTF2.  As for CSOR I don't know.....Para Pathfinders perhaps?
