In Canada you are innocent until proven guilty.  In the courts system the onus is on the Crown to prove your guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.  So in reality all the defence has to do is plant a seed of doubt....they don't have to actually prove anything.

In all provinces but Ontario and Quebec MPs can lateral. While (for now) you have to redo basic constable training in Ontario.....some services allow you to start as a 1st class Constable....so no...you do not start at the bottom with civvie services (pay wise)
