As a med tech, is it still possible to pursue university studies?

Look up the differences between the regular forces and the reserve. Short answer, yes, easily in the reserves. Regular force has a lot of options but your med tech training comes first and any university courses you take will likely be distance learning or at RMC and it will take a lot of luck...

    Which is more exciting?

Everyone is different. Pick a trade that you have an interest in. They each have advantages and disadvantages. Regardless, if you are actually going to use some random person's opinion of a trade as a basis for joining the military, then you should stop and rethink your plans.

    Reserves before Reg Infantry?

My  :2c:. I would join the reserves as an NCM first and see how you like it before you join full-time. If you still like the work after being in the reserves, you can apply as an officer (or if you are dead set on being an NCM for whatever reason, then CT). I personally had the same situation...

Canadian Forces Aptitude Test (CFAT) [MERGED]

"aptitude: capability; ability; innate or acquired capacity for something; talent:" (Definitions.com) I agree that one should not think the CFAT is simply a test that you can walk into without studying. It does not simply measure innate skills. Granted one may be predisposed to understand math...

    IDF Shoots Down Drone

I'm curious as to what information an EO system could gather on something like that? Just an honest question coming from someone with zero knowledge of the subject. Israel's Air Force has the video here: http://www.iaf.org.il/4387-39533-en/IAF.aspx I doubt they will take it down anytime soon...

Joining up in the Combat Arms Trade as an officer

Keep in mind that they will accept any degree for combat arms. You may not wish to pursue a 4 year degree in something that is much less useful than say engineering if your plans with the army fall through.

    BS Baffles Brains

I don't think we should forget the team of Ph.D's who help a PM or President make their decisions. In the end I believe for the most part that the big wigs do not do much independent research on their own, instead they are led to decisions based on options other people provide them.  :2c:

Lincoln and Welland Recruiting in 2013?

Talk to anyone in the unit, they can probably direct you as to where to go. If they seem perplexed then look for someone with bars [officer]. Someone will eventually inform you of a night to come in and fill out some paperwork etc. Anyway, I am not sure why you disregarded artillery because of...

    CBSA Question

Hi there, Just had a question about the CBSA I would like to get clarified. I noticed their new pay scale here: http://www.psac-afpc.com/documents/bargaining/fb_ratkitdec2008-e.pdf It shows different columns [X, A, B Y, C, D], and also different tables based on a system of FB-1 to FB-8. To...

Charges in Joshua Caleb Baker 2010 death

This is a terrible unfortunate situation. But I am curious as to what a severe reprimand entails?

    Power/Stationary/Operating Engineer

Yeah I would have to look into those, I am not sure they are exactly what I would want to do for the rest of my life as on face value it seems like there is little room for advancement. Thanks again though.

    Power/Stationary/Operating Engineer

Thank you very much for the response. If anything perhaps maybe my degree will put my foot in the door over someone else. Any other help will be appreciated as I must make some pretty big decisions in the coming months.

    Power/Stationary/Operating Engineer

Hey, Just wondering if anyone has some inside information about this job? I live in Ontario and I'm doing a combined honours degree in history and philosophy, but honestly my choice to become a police officer/teacher before I joined school has kind of fell through. I was looking at other things...

Film maker apologizes for dissing fallen Kiwi (Split from: NZ Tps/Fallen/Haka)

Yeah I could tell you what I really feel but I don't want to pull a Sumner Burstyn. More seriously, I have no respect for someone like this...she clearly is trying to turn into a victim and profit from this incident. She even includes a link to her friends article in the screen capture of her...

    Cluster Munition Treaty and Canada

I do not think our government will want to do that, as it will not actually get rid of any of the cluster bombs. Likely it would actually help further the use of cluster bombs as we would be giving them to countries who are more apt to use them than Canada is. Perhaps this is a strategic...

Caffeine pills - they're bad mmmkay

At the same time who knows what else are in these pills, plus I am sure there is some difference in the way the caffeine is digested/absorbed/can't find the right word for it, in the body...even if not they must have a legitimate reason. It's funny because when I was talking to the recruiter...
