I was looking at the combat camera footage and noticed that Algonquin had fired a volley and missed with plumes visible forward of Huron. Was Algonquin not in line of sight? Should it not be expected that a modern naval gun be able to hit what it is pointed at on the first shot when in range? ...
Glad you liked it. My favorite was the ROE one..."Seriously you have authorization to use deadly force...Have a nice Naavvyy day."
New episodes come out on paydays. I can't wait.
Let me first begin by saying WOW!! I'm away for a few weeks and come back and the place is upsidedown.
Now back to The purpose of this thread ;D
If you haven't seen it yet, it is now time to go to www.tubedaze.com and view the 10 Hey shipwreck episodes. Its a cartoon series create by some...
K to start I'm not anything close to being Native Canadian.
I have on occasion thought of this. We all make this out to be a form of Segregation. You don't need to send only Natives to a unit like this but allow it to be prodominantly Native. Are there no English people in the 22nd or on the...
For those of us sailors out there who have had the pleasure of looking off to port and seeing an Iranian Patrol Boat waiting for you to make a mistake. Or been awakened in the morning, in your rack, on 3 deck (that's at the waterline) by an Iranian P-3 buzzing your ship. The Pussian Gulf is a...
"Knollage" :threat: Dam spell checker!!! I know I can't spell....
I say most but from what I'm seeing and living right now the DND's training system is in trouble.
I was getting to my last rope today on my equipment phase. I'm on month 3 of a 6 month equipment phase. Death by power point is an understatement. I think a big problem with our friend power point is that we treat it like an over head projector of which you don't need to flip slides. Most...
I'm posting this in the hopes some other people who might have sailed with Johnny might have a chance to make his Funeral.
I was informed today that a kind friendly little man I had the pleasure of sailing with lost his battle with Cancer March 13th. I was informed third hand through another...
It just feels like Law & Order BSG now. Not giving up just yet but NBC who ultimatly runs the show has a tendancy to take really cool stuff and make them fail. For example Fire Fly :crybaby: I hope they can pull this together.
For the Ops types among us. When we fuel and go RADHAZ safe how much contact with the outside world do we maintain. This is a tricky question and if you feel it is OPSPEC shoot it down. I'm asking because a ship like the JSS would/might spend considerable time fueling. Trying to see if JSS...
I still can't agree with this ALOA thing. IT means all three services will get it when sent home. If I'm floating around in the Gulf Iranians like too point Missiles at the ship. In the CF's mind that constitutes danger pay. If I roll the wrong way and fall out of the third bunk and hurt my...
A veto is anything but Democratic. No group of nations especially small nations would go against stopping genocide or a major destabilizing conflict. A veto only gives power to those nations who for the most part benefit through arms sales or benefit by watching an adversary get its nose...
Veto powers are reasons the UN is for the most part a toothless orgaization. It goes against any democratic thinking to give the big strong players a way to sqawsh anything not in there best intrest. Unfortunatly none of the big players back then would have signed on without Veto powers. If...
This really should be a Navy wide issue. Yes subs are little enclosed space and everything becomes a big soup of toxins. Anyone ever think to take a look at the vents on the ships?? Black coal like dust stains around the vents. Who knows what is living in them? MSE dept on any ship swims in...
On a side note the people I've talked too at FMF and the control shop are saying they are spending much less time on the Subs. We've had two operational (functional) and sailing now for some time. Maybe the media should take some time to point that out. A navy no matter what will be a cash...
This is up to the treasury board now.
after you are in its question 2

We did not voluntarily change therefore if things go as planed we will maintain our incentives after our re muster.
My fingers are crossed...
:salute:
To back track a bit...We knowingly sign up and understand the risks yes. We also are willing to stand up understanding we might dye or be seriously disabled in our line of work. No I wouldn't draw a line. All public servants who in specific cases Soldiers, Police Firefighters even Doctors...
Would it be to much to ask Canadian tax payers to pick up widows tabs??
For the people who have the privilege of staying home and leading a normal life in this country I think its the least they could do.

You can get fire fighters belts through the system. We got the whole MSE dept on the ship kitted with them and it was great. Still have mine just can't ware it at CFNES.
