I can't even remember if my course had a photo taken, is this a new(er) thing or have they been doing this for some time?
I graduated with 8921, D Coy, I would imagine since Cornwallis has closed that CIFJIC would hold the negatives(?).
EDIT: SP
"Fella comes into the office after a weekend ex with a leg in a cast from a training accident... Boss is 1st one in line to tell same said fella that he has certain decisions to make if he is interested in working for his company... IE - Quit the reserves or Quit the company."
Has this actually...
First, good on the young man.
Second, good on the MND for looking at it, maybe something that we might see down the line? (well, probably not before I get out).

EDIT: To add photo and caption. (SP)
Ahhh, good 'Ole RUMINT; it is a flying.
Caught wind of a doozy couple days ago, TF would be deploying to Texas (Fort Hood?) for dismounted Ex then, get this, deploying overseas from there. :o
Bite your freaking tongue!, it's not like we have 30 other things on our plate..... :rage:
Honestly though, I'm hearing seven day dismounted Ex in Jan '08, seriously, it's like craming 10 pounds of shit into a five pound bag... ::)
sjm, I like the cut of your jib (like a few on here), you speak with a 'straight' tongue.
+1
And too add to the ruck discussion; carried it for the first time with 55+ lbs for about 5 km's, not too bad although, I will reserve total judgement until I have to sustain myself out of it for a...
No, vetted for OPSEC and appropriateness.
EDIT: Actually, PS is used in some aspects of post production of the images.
Just think (or have a gander at the site, Cbt Camera), how many images have actually been posted that shows Canadian Soldiers in a TIC? and by that I mean putting rounds down...
The images get vetted in Ottawa prior to being released.
EDIT: Well, most of TF 1-08 has been issued the new rucksack (Bergen) from the folks a CTS, sure wish I would have had this twomonths ago (while in the field) so that I could have gotten comfy with it. ::)......
That hard crystallized substance that you refer to as "glass" was actually a common substance used by most people, we like to call it sugar. ;)
(Our Pl medic actually tested this out by dissolving the "glass" in hot water.)
^ I haven't heard anything to the fact, just got back from Wainwright (Maple Guardian). My previous post on the subject was just a caution to those that are looking at purchasing kit for tour overseas (read Afghanistan). Don't get me wrong, I'm all for goochie kit that helps you preform your job...
Your profile says you are currently with the Reserves, in Ottawa so, here is what I dug up.

Edit: Upon further review of the document...
Could be quite true, although some how I doubt that pressing a mouse button one extra time will stop a vindictive/childish person from adding a negative rating to someones profile.
Only one way to find out though, if it is even doable.
+1
TN2IC, maybe I'm not seeing it but, why would the added click of the mouse change someones views on if they were going to rate someone?
Cheers
Edited to add: I for one, do not use the ratings as a single source when determing if I should read (or contemplate reading) a post. Like others have...
Here are a couple of the links that I have used for research purposes (If you don't already have them)
UNDOC Site, Main Page (United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime)
2007 Afghanistan Opium Survey (PDF File)
(Previous years surveys are available as well)
Cheers
