    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

I don't know the answer to your specific question but I'm sure someone here does and will chime in. However, let me just say that perhaps you're going about this all wrong. I know you're probably just curious, but suffice to say that the better you do academically, the better your chances are of...

CAF international bases, staging areas, and fighting formations

And I'm thinking the German government might have a vote also  :)

Public Service Health Care Plan PSHCP [Merged]

Your total expenses still have to exceed the minimum threshold of either 3% of your net income or $2,024, whichever is less. So, based on the numbers being tossed around above, isn't it a moot point?

RCAF Leather Jacket (merged discussion and mocking)

It isn't offensive, it's just that in 25+ years of service I've never heard anyone refer to a flight suit, in day-to-day language, as coveralls just as I've never heard anyone refer to CADPAT, or combats, as their jacket and trousers either, but those are the names used on the garment tags for...

RCAF Leather Jacket (merged discussion and mocking)

Why do you insist on referring to the flight suit as coveralls? Just trying to be antagonistic?

RCAF Leather Jacket (merged discussion and mocking)

It's been a long time, but I'm pretty sure my flight suit label said something like 'Coveralls, Flying, Yada yada'. Could be wrong though. But this is not a 'flying jacket' is it? It's simply a cool factor accoutrement. What function does it serve that's not already done by what is currently...

RCAF Leather Jacket (merged discussion and mocking)

I somehow think (or at least I would like to think) that you really do know that what you are calling "coveralls" really is a flight suit, and that Air Forces worldwide have been wearing flight suits and leather flying jackets for awhile now. The modern day RCAF didn't just dream it up. And as...

RCAF Leather Jacket (merged discussion and mocking)

Holy holy F***! I've seen it all now. Not necessarily a bad idea, just atrocious execution.

    Canadian Forces dentists' productivity questioned

How does a CBC reporter dream up the thought of submitting an Access to Information Request to DND requesting info on - of all topics - CF Dentist productivity? They don't. This story was very unprofessionally orchestrated by one, or more, disgruntled former CF dentists with an axe to grind, or...

CFRG and the broken recruiting system-Split

Many years ago, I considered leaving the CF to join the Australian Defence Force. I was given an ADF recruitment web address by an ADF contact I had met here in Canada and I sent them an email with a bunch of questions about how the enrollment process works, etc. I had a response in less than 24...

Alleged Institutional Racism/solutions in CAF (merged)

The headline for this article, and the assertions that Ombudsman Marin stated that there was systemic racism in the CF, are grossly inaccurate and misleading; he said no such thing. What he did say was: "We have identified two systemic issues that could be pursued further, the first being: what...

Canadian takes command of the Multinational Force and Observers in the Sinai

A mere "taxi" ride to El Arish in the old days was not that hard to do at all I agree. However, the security situation in the Sinai is nothing like it used to be pre-2011. It's the wild, wild west now. I wouldn't travel there without armed escort, certainly not as a westerner, and certainly not...

Canadian takes command of the Multinational Force and Observers in the Sinai

Even being "present in the area", it's still quite a logistical challenge to get to North Camp. Had to have been escorted somehow. As Force Comd, MGen Thompson reports to MFO HQ in Rome, not to Comd CJOC. The Comd TF El Gorah (a Col) reports to Comd CJOC.

Canadian takes command of the Multinational Force and Observers in the Sinai

I'm surprised even he was there given the logistics involved in travelling to the MFO.

Two CF members arrested in Petawawa over Cpl Bloggins Facebook page

I don't think you necessarily need to hang the guy to achieve what ought to be the main aim at this point, which is dissuading others from doing the same or similar. Making his life hell for awhile and a good public shaming would go a long way to achieving that. And demonstrating, as the NIS...

    PERs : All issues questions...2003-2019

Agreed. This year will be interesting for sure. I've seen example draft PERs from multiple units, from MOI to Ready and there are already differences in interpretation/approach emerging. As I've noted above, biggest issue I see is section 5 becoming nothing more than an extension of section 4...

I don't disagree. Just curious to see how others have been moving forward with the new direction.

    PERs : All issues questions...2003-2019

I hear ya. I'm currently redoing all of mine which, surprisingly, is not as straight-forward as I thought it would be but it's coming along. I keep wanting to default to my old writing style and favourite AF/PF descriptors  :)  Lots of questions but not many answers at this point.
