    ND

To take the firing pin or bolt out would qualify for DB Edmonton time in my books.  I would set up inspections to specifically pick that up if I was so empowered. Familiarity with weapons will avoid NDs.  Troops should review TOETs on every weapon, every week, as far as I am concerned.  On tour...

    Op Anaconda

Sounds like you missed it.  It was fun.  It can get a bit tiresome though.    :)

Anyone have anything to say about the Danner Desert Boot

How will it compare to a new CTS desert boot (if there is one) based off of the profile of the CWWB or the new Temperate boot? My experience with Danner is .... great boot.... won't compare to CTS if CTS does it right like the CWWB.

    Op Anaconda

I would suggest that your memory is failing you.   There are various geocities sites that carry an unofficial after action review of Op Anaconda.   The quotes above are drawn from there.   Exum's version would have been quite different from the above and from reality.

Fighting & Winning The Global War on Terror (WW IV)

Garth Pritchard is a straight shooter and a great guy.  And a true professional.

Or the few serials after those first few maybe?  :)    Growing pains and all.

Lower Back pain and ways to relieve it...

I wouldn't go to a chiropractor, but that is just me.  Some guys swear by them.  Some guys swear they have been very nearly ruined by chiropractors.

    Army lessons Learned/AAR Improve How?

This may happen. My understanding of the CMTC concept is that they will run the collective TMST during the Task Force confirmation period in Wainwright.  Their intent as I understand it is to be up to date on the latest TTPs, AARs and likely scenarios and work them into the MEL in a theatre...

On the Lighter Side..... CF Rations

I have one of those camping expresso makers.  Some of my most memorable breakfasts on deployment ended with the MRE chocolate brownie and a large cafe au lait made with "immortal milk".

On the Lighter Side..... CF Rations

I used to hate Cbt Tm laagers with the LdSH.  They pulled out hibachis.... we infantry guys ran around setting up OPs. It was worse when they used to throw empty beer cans at us when they rolled by in their Cougars.

Lower Back pain and ways to relieve it...

I keep my lower back pain in check by maintaining abdominal strength (and eliminating the 38 year old male tendancy to develop a "beer belly").  I find stretching the lower back, pelvis and hips helps too.

    escape and evade?

Not from the Airforce side.... TDV website Episode 104 - Pilot Survival Training Every pilot's worst nightmare is to be shot down behind enemy lines or over hostile territory. The Canadian Air Force, like those of other NATO nations, has developed a unique and intense training course to prepare...

    NCMs Jacking Up Commissioned Officers

I was only jacked publicly by one CWO as a commissioned officer, and that was in the "old" infantry School.  Generally the "good" or "respected" Sgts and WO's corrected Junior officers in private from my experience.  They usually get their expected results as well from my experience.

LAV III Mobile Gun System (MGS)

I'd rather have LAV III twinned with Javelin/Spike-Gill (fire and forget, no wires).

Canadian army to privatize some weapons training

Absolutely.  We are putting way to much stress on the MCpl to WO rank wrt taskings as far as I am concerned.  And we have been for at least the last 6 or 7 years.

    Will Connaught Supply.....

Right Mandal.   It is called planning and preparation.   It used to be a critical requirement in assessing leadership and planning ability. I've often found that going in blind is the best solution. Sometimes I'm also sarcastic. I probably shouldn't read the Cadet threads.

    International niche roles for CF

And once we get rid of point air defence, some of those incompetent African airforces might be able to defeat us on the ground in Africa.
