    CANFORGEN on Pay and PIL

Yeah... I was quoting the number in an earlier post.

    CANFORGEN on Pay and PIL

I know it isn't... I was being sarcastic, wondering if we really need to have close to 25% of our regular force in Ottawa.

    CANFORGEN on Pay and PIL

I can see your Troops being frustrated if you told them about the assumptions you made above: "Yeah, the sarge said it only takes 20 minutes per file... WTF are these clerks doing with my money over there ??" Lead by example; be patient, and explain to them that they should be too.

    Op Attention Danger Pay Reductions?

Slow down there  ::) You guys are running a training center, you don't have to "close with and destroy the enemy" out there. It's not about the worth of your hides, it's about the level of risk it is in.

Future Canadian Airborne Capability and Organisation! Or, is it Redundant? (a merged thread)

I did some balloon jumps in Aldershot in the same period as the videos, again with 1 Para. I was already an experienced Trooper, jumpmaster qualified, and found the balloon jumps impressive. Thanks for the vids, brings back memories...

No, the Chinese embassy in Belgrade was bombed by mistake. The intention was to bomb a Yugoslav Federal Directorate for Supply and Procurement building, some 180m away.

Dude, there was never a US bombing of the Chinese embassy in Kabul; as Old Sweat mentionned, there was the accidental bombing of their embassy in Belgrade on May 7th 1999, but I'm quite certain the events in Afghanistan and the Belgrade bombing are unrelated.

I'm a tax payer too; I also want a plane that will be "good enough to get the assigned task done", but not just today's assigned task, I want it to be good enough for future assigned tasks. If we are unsure what those tasks will be in 20 years, then we need to acquire a new system that will have...

Yeah... it really sucks to be posted to Valcartier, with Québec City 20 minutes away...  ;) If you are a single Infantry Soldier, there are 2 places for you: Edmonton or Valcartier. The other places have the same girls playing musical room in the shacks...

Actually, we don't need larger parachutes; we need lo-po or no-po canopies that will slow the rate of descent. Some modern S-L parachutes also offer steerability without forward momentum, so a jumper can choose how he will land and reduce injuries related to those rear-left landings !!

There are a few things wrong with that video; first of all, just 2 minutes into it, we see the CO and staff wearing the old fleece shirt as an outer garment... SACRILEGE !!! No wonder we were disbanded...  ;) Secondly, there are no computers, no 50-inch TVs, no inflated staff...  8) Seriously...
