Don't rule out university straight from high-school... RMC, ROTP or DEO programme. I got out of RMC and went for the DEO programme. I had no problems with summer jobs or government loans. I hardly owe anything... oh, yes... lots of university girls.     

So Air Cadets blows just because it didn't give you guys an edge over the other Air Force applicants? Personally, I'd rather see a Cadet eager to serve his/her squadron and the community rather than expect to get a head start at flight training. Being a glider/power Cadet myself, I respect the...

Don't outrule going to university before joining the CF. RMC... ROTP... DEO. High school isn't the end-all and be-all of everything.

Excellent points, Touchingthevoid. A pilot should be proficient in math/science AND languages. If you're weak at something, work at it. Remember that a large portion of the CF Aptitude Test deals with language use/cognitive thinking. If you can't pass the CFAT... that's it.

Stay in academic everything. You need to be able to get into university or RMC (pilots need at least a bachelor's degree). I have no experience with CEOTP, so I couldn't comment on how that works. I'd advise you to join Air Cadets if you havn't... you'll learn a lot. Remember to do a search on...
