Recruiting Posters, Slogans and Commercials [Merged]

Wow, some of the most articulated, and accurate posts I've read on the site in a while.  I am a strong supporter for Mr. Tom's idea for a commercial.  I'm sure it would cost the government millions to prepare.  I could probably do it for a fraction of that, and better I might add!  Does anybody...

Pay: Statements, Backpay, Benefits, Deductions (Taxes, T4), Deployed ect... [MERGED]

Everyone buy quicktax and do your owntaxes.  Very easy, even for a grunt like me.  34.95 includes 6 free NETFILE  for returns over 25,000, unlimited returns for those under 25,000.  Last time I used H & R Block they charged per slip.  This year between the wife and I, we had 10 slips.  Work...

Why can't we produce ads like the Americans do?  I know, I know.....just hear me out.  U need a heavy metal tune in the background (i.e. Drowning pool, pantera, something)  Gets u pumped, show the infantry, SAR Techs, JTF (within reason of course) tankers, engineers, pilots, etc...all doing some...

Pay: Statements, Backpay, Benefits, Deductions (Taxes, T4), Deployed ect... [MERGED]

thx for the info, I heard this in passing from a guy that had attended a SCAN seminar.  Perhaps he was "right out-of-er" I was a little skeptical as well.  Would be a nice idea though ;D  For the record I usually do my own taxes with Quicktax on my own computer.  Easy to use and a lot cheaper...

Pay: Statements, Backpay, Benefits, Deductions (Taxes, T4), Deployed ect... [MERGED]

Anyone know how, if possible, to transfer part of your salary to your spouce for tax purposes?  I heard you can do that.  Helpful for a guy like me, who's wife makes far less then myself.  Puts you in lower tax bracket. i.e. BIGGER return.

Col. Stogran re MGS vs Tanks Decision

When was the last time we deployed tanks into an operation..... anyone...... Kosovo, u say?, just for vehicle check points no? Why should we keep something that we never use?  Now as we pretty much all agree the MGS doesn't really help does it?  First hit capability is somewhere below 50% (I...

WOW, this is interesting..The "Logan" is a developmental design for the Canadian

alright now.....     Lets replace a side pouch with a "new pouch" to hold 4-5 more mags.  Okay, now where does my Frags, smoke, 1-2 extra boxes (30 - 60 rounds) Water (anywhere we go requires a lot now) and other assortments...field dressings, med kit, survival kit, etc..  now if u add a...

WOW, this is interesting..The "Logan" is a developmental design for the Canadian

Wow, I was bitching on another thread recently, about how much of a POS that "new" tac vest was.  I preferred webbing to this recent incarnation because of the fact that the basic combat load on my "last tour" was 12+ magazines, plus plus plus.  Where the hell do u put all of it in the TAC...

Col. Stogran re MGS vs Tanks Decision

I was under Col. Stogran's command in Afghanistan and let me just say this...He is for the troops.  He's pretty hardcore (for officer's anyway) He knows the real problems we land types face, fiscally, and as for what CFL said about him retiring.  I doubt it.  Since Op Apollo, he's golden...

What is your bases policy on guarding prisoners by non-MP members?

As a 2 VP thing, in the past, current battalion members are required to watch their own memebers. We are only "borrowing" the MP cells.  We do meal escorts and general "suicide" watch etc....  Usually only guys who are getting their pee pee slapped like the current AWOL.  It sucks yes, but I've...
