I usually see the term "visible" minority when filling out job applications i.e. "do you consider yourself a visible minority?"
I should probably start checking off "Yes" because of my height. ;D
Well, it sounds all fine and dandy from an emotional, 'appeal-to-vengeance' type viewpoint.
Is there any evidence that these implementations are successfully deterring would-be criminals?
I mean, we're not talking about minimum sentencing here. We're talking about prison conditions.
Huh??
You're the one who opened this can of worms. Now deal with it.
You've basically stated outright that we as a society shouldn't feel compelled to protect those who are weaker than us (i.e. Social Darwinism), which goes WAAAAAAY beyond the original argument in this thread.
I'm glad...
Whatever happened to placing blame on those that break the law in the first place?
Or does that general rule not apply when talking about a president that was a democrat?
Hmm....I know you're trying to apply your above argument to this First Nations issue.....but methinks you've unintentionally travelled into *vastly* different territory here.....

Man, I feel like I'm in the same boat as you. I'm turning 25 this year and I'm getting somewhat paranoid about my age (I'm still in the application process as well).

Actually, I said that I didn't agree with him politicizing the deaths.
But I haven't read the direct transcript, so I stand corrected if it was indeed the moderator who rigged the question.
As I said before, I've never heard of a gun owner being charged as an accessory. I've heard of them being charged with firearm offences (i.e. storage). Please feel free to present any examples if I am wrong.
I wholeheartedly agree. But only point being that we can't absolve gun owners from any...
Jesus H. Christ, do you guys even read what I type??
I never said that the gun owner was partly responsible for the later crime. Never once. You even *quoted* me saying the exact opposite. ::)
And I understand that improperly storing firearms is a separate issue. Coincedentally, it was *the*...
That analogy would work if I were advocating charging the gun owner with the later crime committed (and I'm not).
I'm merely supporting the current laws we already have concerning responsible ownership for any firearm. I've never heard of any gun owner in Canada who has been charged with...
