    VAC wait times

I just received payment for claims submitted April 2017. 14 months seems to be somewhat of a standard wait time. That said, it appears as though PTSD claims tend to move a bit faster..as do tinnitus. If anyone is on Facebook (and being med released) check out the Veterans 3b Support Group. Lots...

Job-related injuries create mounting danger for search and rescue workers

It's interesting to see this getting some news. The problem is a lot worse than many realize. The trade literally has a 100% injury rate. The only questions are when, and how bad. Most guys/gals are flying with some sort of significant chronic injury and if they aren't now, they will be soon...

Neck pain a debilitating problem for RCAF helicopter pilots

Sure have. Half my career was with 2VP. The other half was with SAR.

Neck pain a debilitating problem for RCAF helicopter pilots

Aircrew wears a helmet way more consistently and for longer periods than an infanteer so my guess would be no. Suppose there arealways exceptions though.

    VAC wait times

Sounds about right. I've got  a bunch from last April still on step one and I know of a few others who are in the same situation.

    VAC wait times

I agree, however that seems to be the standard wait time for most claims these days. This is based off off of the experiences of members of the Faceboob3B release page, the Veterans Voice webpage as well as my own contacts. Some claims like tinnitus and PTSD seem to move faster and of course...

    VAC wait times

I think it depends on the claim/situation but that sounds pretty normal. I've got 3 that are still on step one at 12 months.

Trenton CH-146 Drops Liferaft through Miami Home

It's only ever secured by a seatbelt and has to get moved around the cabin depending on how many are on board or equipment requirements.

    SAR Tech

It seems to change based on the needs at the time. I can tell you that the trade is at an all-time low and they are desperate for people... So if you are currently a member, I'd talk to your BPSO.

    Survival kits

As a Sar Tech I based my personal survival kit on the generic survival pattern using quality gear....which could mean spending a bit of cash. First Aid (massive bleeds focused - Quality Tourniquet, quick clot, field dressing ) Fire - matches, knife(capable of batoning), folding saw if you've...
