It's interesting to see this getting some news. The problem is a lot worse than many realize. The trade literally has a 100% injury rate. The only questions are when, and how bad. Most guys/gals are flying with some sort of significant chronic injury and if they aren't now, they will be soon...

Sure have. Half my career was with 2VP. The other half was with SAR.

Aircrew wears a helmet way more consistently and for longer periods than an infanteer so my guess would be no. Suppose there arealways exceptions though.

I think it depends on the claim/situation but that sounds pretty normal. I've got 3 that are still on step one at 12 months.

It's only ever secured by a seatbelt and has to get moved around the cabin depending on how many are on board or equipment requirements.

It seems to change based on the needs at the time. I can tell you that the trade is at an all-time low and they are desperate for people... So if you are currently a member, I'd talk to your BPSO.
