RMS Clerk serving an initial tour of 6 to 8 years in Halifax or Esquimalt?

Speaking as a person who is also going Navy RMS CLK, I'd like you -OP- to keep in mind that you are in a purple trade, so regardless of the uniform you are given there is a possibility to be posted anywhere in the country where there is a need.  Occam is correct that you can be in Halifax or...

    BMQ St-Jean

cluett's right - it totally depends on your course staff.  My old platoon (up until I left St Jean anyway) had 0 freedoms (up until week 7, and since I'm not around, I couldn't tell you if that changed at all.  That being said, other platoons get all access once they hit week 4.  So, bring what...

**little update** at physio today my therapist tells me she's "really impressed" with my progress, even from my last visit to today.  She must be telling the truth, because she kept saying it over and over again.  She also told me that we can "really start working" once I see my orthopedist...

Quick Question - Number of Eye Glasses Reqr'd

actually - what will happen is during week 3 (I believe - I was heavily medicated when we went) you will go to the optometrist and they will test your eyes.  You can buy (yes, you pay for them) two good pairs of glasses, plus they give you a pair for the field - my platoon all got the birth...

thank you Steve, I really appreciate it.  My morale has been better lately - and I'm sure once I start up my physio here regularly I'll be walking again in no time.  As it is, I was halfway out of the kitchen yesterday before I realized I had forgotten my crutches by the fridge.  That's a good...

Having a tough go at this

+1 exgunner  I've been in the same situation and canadiansitter.ca is really good, I'm also going to suggest daycarebear.ca.  Also, are your kids in a home daycare or a centre?  If a centre - do the 'teachers' do any babysitting on the side? My daycare provider's daughter babysits for us on...

    Going back to St Jean

thanks ballz....  I'm not trying to deny myself anything.  I've put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into my career already - I am just not about to jeopardize it any further by allowing myself to get sidelined again.  Anyway - I'll take a wait and see approach to this - it's all I can do...

nope they haven't used the "CF 98" in months now.  Not after the girl broke her back on it.  I got injured on one of the other ones.  For the most part - the obstacle course doesn't scare me - just maybe two/three obstacles.  I'm not afraid of heights - just of falling and that sudden stop at...

    Going back to St Jean

Hey all.... I'm really jumping the gun here as I just left my nice concrete bubble (aka the Mega) for my attach posting here at home.  I'm slated to go back 1 Feb 10 to be "reassessed" for my TCAT 3 and I'm, I guess, hoping against hope I'll be ready to go back to platoon and not AWT once...

yes, but on the same note that is a BAD thing as they expect a lot more.  I've had the whole "bring the platoon up to standard" crap before - not a fan. I think it's going to be weird though, going back to the mega after being in the "real world" for a few months.
