Agreed. Considering the tip and that Cruz was well known to police, the FBI has some explaining.
And documents obtained by CNN show that law enforcement officers responded to Cruz's house on 39 occasions over a seven-year period. No police reports were immediately available for those calls so...
Agreed. However this is not practiced by all. For example, let's look at the pracrice of some police departments in Ontario. Too often, instead of processing someone who has been arrested -who is well known to the law enforcement in that area - police will drop that person off at a hospital...
In Canada - and most of the Western World - corrections is focused on recidivism, not punitive. Research suggests that longer sentences has a negative affect on recidivism rates. Where corrections needs to improve, is to provide adaqute and appropriate programming to aboriginal inmates.
I happen to agree with the direction the CAF is going. It is clear from the replies on this forum not everyone is. The CAF like every organization needs to evolve. Name calling by those who are unhappy with change are counterproductive to the mission and values of the CAF.
KI92,

Not sure about the pic. However, I'm not a fan of the CAF mandatory retirement age of 60. If a person can pass the fitness standard and has a clean medical, they should be allowed to serve.
The highest income years for most Canadians is between 60 and 65. Forcing members to retire at 60 is...
Epic, using your logic, all men can beat all women in every test of strength and endurance. So, can you beat the women's 100m dash world champion? Can you out press a women Olympic weightlifter? I would like to hear your answers.
No. It is clear that a major point is being lost. If the CAF improves its appeal to women, the number of able body women will increase. Thus, we will have more women who are physically capable - the law of large numbers -.
Clogging the system? I think we need to look at how much it costs to process a new recruit. Is it not in the best economic interest of the CAF to help those who may struggle with fitness during BMQ / BMOQ than simply release them due to being unfit? The CAF is a different lifestyle, and as...
