I actually just recently acquired a very old school 64 pattern rucks, the straps are mismatched and the frame is old but it comes with 2 of the large pouches. Where are you located, Lightguns?

As a recruit going through BMQ in St. Jean, you'll wear the issued footwear. Once you graduate and get posted, go on courses etc. PERHAPS you'll be granted the freedom to wear non-issued boots. TLDR; There are no acceptable non-issue boots for recruits.

You can never go wrong with nice pants, dress shirt w/tie and some decent shoes. This is the early stage of your hopeful career, it's important to start conducting yourself with pride and professionalism. Trust me, the recruiter will notice and it WILL make a difference. There's always that one...

Use hot soapy water and a nail brush, if the boots are brand new and not yet scuffed then a neutral polish works well for attempting to maintain them. Just because you don't HAVE to polish them doesn't mean you can't take 20 minutes and put some work in. That's just my  :2c:

Obtaining genuine CF cadpat is a massive can of worms that you probably don't want to open. For the most part, actual cadpat issued gear is controlled and not to be sold. With that said, it's easy enough to obtain that kit through civi retailers like Soldier gear or CP Gear. Quick google search...
