    PT Time Taken Away

I have to weigh in on this one,  finding myself on course again (this latest round after close to 10 years after being on my last Army course), while on course PT happens every day, but as soon as you are no longer on course you no longer do PT during working hours (save for combat units)...

    balistic eyewear

Shouldn't be a problem the BHOSP here has all the assetts whether outsourced or in house that any other base in Canada has,  they should be able to get you the inserts without a problem.

    replacing kit...

I destroyed my last wash basin on a 20 minute drive, tossed my ruck into the back of my truck and tore down a dirt road a all ahead stupid, apparently steel wash basin meeting wheel wells at a high rate of knots tends to redecorate it, punched it out with a balle peen, and it still works just...

    CAP Gagetown

The guy whose name it was had to have the jimmy's install a line in his room. It was easy after that

    CAP Gagetown

it could be done I suppose, maybe with one of the rogers wireless boxes, provided there is power in the tents, can't see why not though.  We all chipped in for a DSL line over in H3 and it worked well for us.

    CAP Gagetown

as for the baseline computer, I was the only guy on the course with one, and we had no din jacks to plug into, as for tent city, not bloody likely, your better off with one of your own for watching movies, memo's that sort of thing,  also there is a coffee shop in Oromocto, The Sour Grape, that...

"The stuff the army issues is useless" and "no non-issue kit over seas!"

I can't get access to the DIN right now (I'm on lve and have no intention of going to work before my course starts next week) but there was a canforgen in 02 I think it was, maybe 99/02 perhaps, that stated the fleece was auth for use as outerwear. I could be wrong, if you ask the wife it...

    Damage To Uniform...

From what I understand, and this is going back a wee bit here but units are not "entitled" to stock kit so there should be no issue of replacing stocked kit, being no DA entitilement for it never existed. The problem with mass ordering from logisticorp is they are all individual SCA items. The...

    CAP vs. other infantry courses

I must say to Esquimalts defence, my RQ emailed the CQ at the infantry school with my particular list of deficiencies, and it boiled down to either he could issue it or it wasn't really required i.e. storm trooper hat and flak jacket. aside from that we have had every weekend off (save for this...

    CAP vs. other infantry courses

Well put Vern. my supporting base bent over backwards and even performed some magic tricks to try to fully kit me out, some stuff was just impossible to get, and to be fair, I haven't had a need for the winter stormtrooper hood anyway, but I agree some places just aren't doing the job proper, or...

    CAP vs. other infantry courses

In most cases (emphasis on most) The Schools are thier home units making 3 ASG the supporting supply base (excepting of course the summer serials very RMC and reserve heavy, the nature of the beast)

Beware What You Post on Public Forums

ok I'll weigh in here with my 2 cents.  Notify his chain of command and provide the link, not only is it unproffessional but insubordinate to boot, this is a command issue and a leadership issue and shouldn't be taken lightly.

    Ignorant Civies

About a year ago after coming out of a CBC sponsored childs activity, Curios George or something like that, the local granola eating hippies had a protest in downtown Victoria. Signs saying "out of Iraq" and a borrowed phrase from another US war "make love not war" your typical hippy garbage. So...

    BMQ in St.Jean

The very likely reason she's headed off to ST Jean is that she is reg force, the course run in Borden is for Naval Reserve Division BMQ's (with the odd exception) generally all reg force recruits go through the CF Leadership and Recruit School in ST Jean. Karina, welcome to the Army hope your...
