I can't say I'm surprised. When I was in Uni in the 90s, a lot of the people I knew that came from Greece to study in Engineering were at least a year ahead in their math skills. Then we had the dumb @ass reforms that stopped grading and failing our poor little sensitive kids. Reap what you sow.

You can always call them. Did you talk to a recruiter before applying online? If yes, give him/her a call or send an email. If not, call your CFRC and inquire.

I applied for an officer position, and have sadly, never volunteered anywhere (and I'm 41) . Hasn't hurt my chances. Don't let that stop you.

Is this happening because there is a fear of a shortage of men and women if they start failing people out? Are the higher ups worried about consequences if the students get pushed to hard or fail and then complain? Who can this benefit by allowing this to happen?

It could be because you have a lot of competition for the trades you applied for that scored higher than you, whereas the trades they suggested probably have less. Lots of people want to go infantry, so even if the min score is low, there's lots of competition.

There are minimum scores to be eligible for the various trades, but you won't get those numbers. Beyond that, you also need to be competitive. You may meet the minimum, but if the other 10 applicants score better, you're at a disadvantage. The math is high school math. Check out the sample test...

That has to do with the number of posts you have. The more posts you have, the more you status inches toward the more senior ranks.

The general consensus here is to contact your recruiter once a month just to remind him/her you're still interested, still preparing. Good luck

congrats on the merit listing. I find that at 6'3", 210-215 lbs is a sweet spot if you get your body fat down to 10%. That's my goal.
