How could they not have caught that before putting it up?

Physical Fitness (Jogging, Diet, Cardiovascular, and Strength )

hell, I'm not in and I'm motivated by that! That looks great! The only thing that would make me cringe is the 23m 5k run. And a 460lb 1 rep max deadlift is a little disconcerting.

John Baird to resign as foreign affairs minister, sources say

How about an intelligent decision based on finances: http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/john-baird-resigns-you-need-to-be-defined-by-your-values-1.2942832 here's the excerpt that counts: By not running in 2015, Baird also qualifies for his pension, under an old rule, at age 55. Parliament...

Physical Fitness (Jogging, Diet, Cardiovascular, and Strength )

Did it very recently. It's less than four hours, but there were less than 10 people taking the test. Depending on where it's held (how small the gym is), you may only be able to do the tests only 2 or 3 at a time - as was our case. The instructor takes the time to explain everything. Also gives...

Super Bowl XLIX: Thoughts, Allegiances or Whatever

Yes, but that was still a great interception on a superb read. Give some credit to Butler. The Pats did work hard to catch up and get ahead. As mentioned though, it was a great, close game.

Super Bowl XLIX: Thoughts, Allegiances or Whatever

Yea, that was pretty stupid. After that almost miraculous catch to get them there, he blows it all by passing. Passing at the 1 yard line. Who the fudge does that?

    Intelligence Officer / Operator

What did the recruiter tell you? The only one than can give you an answer to that is a recruiter. With those degrees, it is definitely worth your time to go ask in person.

Volunteer unpaid Militia idea (split from Reserve role thread)

Hehe, that would be something. It may be a little more complicated to do some blasting on the side than some practice with an AR15.

Canadian Forces Aptitude Test (CFAT) [MERGED]

something fun to do to expand or refresh your vocabulary, on the Merriam Webster site: http://www.merriam-webster.com/quiz/index.htm It's a small 10 question word quiz.

Volunteer unpaid Militia idea (split from Reserve role thread)

thanks for the info. I'm looking to join the combat engineers, so it's probably not as high in demand as the trades you mentioned. And for the record, I've fired many boxes of rounds out of my 597, I'm not crazy or rich enough to learn on a larger caliber.

Volunteer unpaid Militia idea (split from Reserve role thread)

Yes, I could, I have both my permits, am a member at a club but do not own an AR. I've considered it, and probably will end up buying one (no rush), as marksmanship (or the attempt at) is a beautiful thing.

Volunteer unpaid Militia idea (split from Reserve role thread)

I was mostly hoping that it would be possible to go practice with the c7 more than the required time on bmq for a reservist. Even if it means paying for the ammo out of pocket.

Volunteer unpaid Militia idea (split from Reserve role thread)

I wasn't looking for paid stuff, the money is irrelevant. I'm just looking to know if there's any way you can do extra stuff on your own time but with army equipment and tools. So there's no army range where you can go shoot with issued weapons? (firing with my personal rifle is not the same as...

Volunteer unpaid Militia idea (split from Reserve role thread)

Hi all, I am wondering as a potential reservist, let me set up the hypothetical scenario: I show up one weekend a month and one night a week. One particular weekend, my wife and kids are not home, but it's not an 'on' weekend. Can I, on my own time, go somewhere to do some training, say rifle...

I'm guessing we won't read much more about this on here. But I do admit, this is interesting.

Commentary "Why No One Should Join the Canadian Forces"

Ok, so that's what I think as well from all the reading I've done here. The thread about using museum parts for repairs, and the reserve recruit that didn't get boots issued are not the norm. I understand that. I've also read that some of our jets and copters are generations old, they banned...

Commentary "Why No One Should Join the Canadian Forces"

So as someone on the outside trying to get in, I should take his article with a grain of salt? No truth to his words? Mostly true? Is the CAF undermanned? Underfunded? Under-equipped? Treats their wounded and vets poorly?
