    From Gunner to FOO

    From Gunner to FOO

Pat H,   Muskrat has a very good point.   Also all Gunner Officers (field) become FOOs, it is part of the Junior officer development.  Concentrate on the path you have chosen. Be a good gunner on the gun line then ask to go to the OP as a driver, get to know what the worlds like up at the...

Canada's NATO allies let down Canadian troops: British MP

I think it is a combination of left and no vested interest in A Stan. Some of those nations don't have a vested interest in anything other than a hedonistic lifestyle which appears to be left leaning. Just look closely on how easily they gave up their own countries in the big one and you have...

Canada's NATO allies let down Canadian troops: British MP

It is a UN mission being executed by NATO at the current time. Yes they (NATO) would have a vested interest in the outcome. NATO has always been a difficult animal. I would suspect some are in the club only due to the fact that back in the day they were looking down the barrel of a Russian army...

ALJAZEERA english international service is "up"

I think it will be great ;) Only if you watch this way. Have your CNN or FOX news on the TV and then split screen Aljazeera in the corner with no volume. You get to see the artillery shell depart the allies guns and see the landing on the split screen. Too cool.

    All Things Paul Franklin (merged)

I watched it....it was so very inspiring, he is an example to all of us. I found it strange that it was eluded to that he would stay in uniform and in the CF. That would be impossible unless the CF has decide to change its ways. That would be great news if they did employ him and it would...

Red/ Green/ White Poppies- Does The Colour Matter?- Merged

The white feather story as I heard it,  was about Brit ladies that would pin a white feather on able bodied men on the street as a sign they were cowards for not serving. This  as I understand it, caused the wounded soldiers recovering and now exempt from further service were issued with wounded...

Red/ Green/ White Poppies- Does The Colour Matter?- Merged

I always thought white is a symbol of cowardice. I guess its appropriate in a weird way. I have not seen one yet hopfully they respect the copy right of the Legion and stop this activity.

I wonder if they will send the award to the non dutch forces that were sent to help them defend the town and fought along side them but did not surrender with the Dutch, instead choosing to continued to fight and lead the refugees to Zepa? I have mixed feelings about this award, the Dutch do...

    Wearing an Ancestor's Medals Mega-thread

Amos,   Here's an idea, go to your local Legion and ask them to put out a table for now passed vets so you can lay out his medals with a photo and a little bio of him. Each remembrance day you could encourage more family members to do this. I think it would be very fitting for you to honour...

    Reservists Job Protection Superthread

I think we are forgetting who runs companies.....the owners not the unions please. Ask your boss, the one not in the union they decide not the union dude. It would be nice if the government legislated some form of protection but that will be very hard in this country.

The Canadian Peacekeeping Myth (Merged Topics)

If I was listening during my classes at the PPC the term "peacemaking came as part of the new package to describe future ops, this was occurring at the same time 3 block war was being discussed. The term was one of the three pillars to the "peace support ops" concept which has Peacemaking...

All Things First Nations - CF help, protests, solutions, residential schools, etc. (merged)

Niner Dem,     You have some strong points but I'm still at a loss how all that equals justice today. A few questions since you appear to be very well versed with the Act. 1. Do the Indian treaties that came from the French king stand equal to the English treaties to the English confederacy...
