    Naval Deployment questions

26 years on ships in the Navy, and the Cox'n was always a welcome guest on the bridge, but never can I recall any of them exerting any form of command or directional influence while there (not directly anyhow.) The CO owns his bridge (and his/her ship.) The OOW is granted Charge of the ship...

Speaking as a Tech - the problem is that they let the magic smoke out. The Magic Smoke can only be put back in under special circumstances involving the light of the moon, unicorns, and trolls. We will not discuss any of this further in public because the trolls get unhappy if you get into...

    Liberal Minority Government 2025 - ???

Heads smarter than mine will argue the minutiae of this in more detail, however, observe the approximate drop dates that seem to correlate to election results....and the massive divergence between industrial investment between the two sides of the border. This seems like the kind of thing...

MARPAC controls training establishments - so - move NFS(A) down there? Add another Land Based Test Facility and you've suddenly got the ability to add a persistent presence in terms of continental surveillance whilst instructing trainees. :-) And I'm sure LM would be happier to have their...

    Continental Defence Corvette

As I recall, we had no idea what AIS was when we got to the Med...then the Norwegian ship was reporting beyond the radar horizon targets by "AIS" and we were confused. Our OPSO went over on a cross-pol to see it, came back, talked with the CO, and upon arrival in our next port, the SYO received...

Something we learned about the old CCS 330 (the original Combat System, not the current CMS330 suite) was that the 4x Data Bus lines were run on separate decks, on opposite sides of the ship. That way if there was a hit on the port side, and you lost both channels, you might still have both...

The first R/C Version is coming along well - you can see the puddle of putty required so far. (Much more to follow....) I've got the 4 hull modules printed and two of the Superstructure modules. We'll see how this goes. Oh, and the custom props I ordered from the US have shown up along...

    Replacing the Subs

I hear that they will - standard 12.75" tubes to launch MK.XX torps (46/50/54? ) Standard lightweight ASW torps, same type as carried on the helo. Did some google, and the SK lightweight torp is shown in a couple of spots as being 'equivalent' to the 50/54. Also same diameter at 324mm.

If you recall the story about the state of readiness of the Moskova when she was hit and sunk, the number of major OPDEF level problems on that ship were huge...I'll see if I can dig up the link. Found a Reddit reference:

Interestingly, there's a guy in the US that is soon to be releasing 3D print files for a Zumwalt....he sent me the 1/192 scale version to help him trouble-shoot the prints.

OK, here's a 1/288 scale hull printed as a test object for the R/C version. You can may be able to see the integrated motor mounts. I've also made full up bulkheads in 2 spots as well to separate the ship for some semblance of water resistance should there be any ingress into the hull. Full...

    New Canadian Shipbuilding Strategy

Installing the 57mm on the foc'sle of the AOPS with a through deck penetrating magazine feed mechanism would require a lot of work. However. If you give up the loading system, and are willing to go with just 121 rounds in the mount, loaded manually from the rear door...you can have a surface...
