    Are musicians soldiers or not?

I kind of like the idea that you can get talented musicians, soldiers or not that are dedicated to the art of 'martial music'! And yes, I think that due to their training, military musicians are soldiers. Duke

    Chaplain ( Merged )

Perhaps it was the sentence I quoted and this one "its to get you back to being fit to fight." that caused my confusion. And yes, I can read/write and speak English. Duke

    Are musicians soldiers or not?

I know the ones in Toronto actually wear the uniform, and wear 'honorary' rank as well. Duke

"It didnt have to do with war but it did help you so that you would be in an improved emotional state so that you could perform your duties which include putting hot lead into other human beings......also know as WAR. Are musicians soldiers or not?

A question, I know there are some units in the Toronto Garrison where Bandsmen (Bandspeople?) are not members of the CF. Is this a general policy or are some units bending the rules? Duke

C'mon, Trinity. I haven't looked disturbing since I shaved off the moustache and threw away my "I love Ricky Martin"T-Shirt. Duke

    Alternate for the CIC

And you missed my point, entirely, Steve031. "Are you comparing yourself to the Queen" Nope. Are you? The PM has no formal role in the CF?????? You don't need to be a soldier to be saluted. Is our National Flag a member of the CF? Having a role, formal or otherwise in the CF is irrelevant...

    Alternate for the CIC

Interesting. Is the Queen a soldier? The Governor General? The Prime Minister? You are paying compliments to the commission and the trust and confidence shown by the Monarch that goes with it, not the person :salute:. Duke

Great post! I hate to be unpatriotic but: 1) A Swiss invented Velcro (George De Mestral) 2) An American invented the "Zamboni" (Frank J Zamboni) 3) An Italian invented radio. (Gugliemo Marconi) Duke

    April Fool's Pranks

Long ago, at a company that shall remain nameless, there was a 'gung ho' student intern. Every time his phone rang, he would run madly across the office to pick up.  In the process he would sometimes knock equipment over, scatter papers and most importantly annoy the crap out of everyone. We...

The Shaving Superthread- All You Want and More....

Baby oil. Great idea! Cheap, and it softens the skin as well. When I run out of my industrial sized supply of home made Somerset's, I'll give it a try. Duke

The Shaving Superthread- All You Want and More....

The shaving oil is great! Not great for use outside of the home though, for many of the reasons mentioned (clogs razor, need for water etc.). It is also expensive. To get around that, I make my own! The main ingredient ,"Olus", is actually vegetable oil! Add some tea tree oil, some menthol oil...

    Best Camo Fatigues?

Mmmmmm! Fanta and Orange Crush. I remember them well, as did my family dentist! Dye, sugar, water, artificial flavours and CO2. Great stuff when you're a young 'un! Duke

    Alternate for the CIC

Blue fox, Welcome to army.ca! As a fellow CIC member, there are a few things I'd like to point out: First, Civilian Instructors and Civilian Volunteers are two separate entities. A CI is a paid position within a corps/squadron. They may not actually receive money, but they can. A civilian...

Way cool, Infanteer! Thanks! Did any of the weapons end up in a museum or were they guests of honour at a bip? Duke
