    Italian Carcano

I could... but I just love the authenticity too much, and it'll probably never be fired... but I'd like to have ammo for it nevertheless. It belonged to my uncle who passed on a few years ago, so I'd like to keep it in the state he had it in. At 5 bucks a round, I'm gonna need to bring a box of...

    The Great Gun Control Debate

I need no reality check. The world we live in is very real, even on the home front. Just because I haven't been overseas or haven't been in combat and am not in a military of any sort right now doesn't mean that I'm this uneducated, senseless hick that you've pegged me to be. The only twisted...

    The Great Gun Control Debate

*Applauding* recceguy for PM! And... a pro CCW! We certainly need more. Prehaps some day we'll overcome the bleeding heart lieberals... some day. As for Josh... if anyone who had an issue had the "ahh let the other guy do it, they can do it without me" mentality, we wouldn't have even half of...

    Insufficient Weapons/Ammo?

Well what changes, if any, with regards to weapons/ammo would anyone like to see?

    The Great Gun Control Debate

I wholeheartedly agree. Society in this day and age has a tendency to view an act in the most idiotic way. The actual victim(s) are overlooked, and society then treats the criminal with respect, putting him/her up in a fancy boarding house (jail...?), and then wants to chop us down thinking...

    Insufficient Weapons/Ammo?

I shot and hunted game at a very early age Wes, and have certainly bagged game before I was 9. Of course at the earlier years I was under extreme supervision and didn't carry myself. I could barely hold a firearm when I was first exposed. But I was exposed to shooting at a young age and have...

    The Great Gun Control Debate

But Wesley, don't you see? Taking that gun has cut down on crime! Well maybe not... but it's the votes that count, right?

    Insufficient Weapons/Ammo?

For sure. I certainly realize that many on here have been shooting longer than I have, at more than just targets and game. Hats off to them for that. I've been shooting for 17-18 years (since I was 3-4, but never really got serious until about 10-12 years ago. My pistol shooting has come a long...

    The Great Gun Control Debate

Imagine if they spent that 2 billion beefing up our border/coastal security and LE agencies? Stats might be a little better then.

    Insufficient Weapons/Ammo?

Nope, I never been in combat. I offered my opinion based on what I've seen and you're certainly welcome to offer your opinion as well. Overpenetration in hard targets is what I was referring to. The 9mm is certainly a fine round, but I'm one of the big .45 fans. The ongoing debate about 9mm vs...

    Insufficient Weapons/Ammo?

No worries, you're certainly entitled to your opinion as I am mine. I know we probably won't see the juicy .45 round ... probably at all, as I think it's really being phased out. The .357 sig appears to be a fine round, but I've yet to fire it. .40 S&W is a great .45 alternative.

    Insufficient Weapons/Ammo?

I've seen overpenetration first hand many times with 9mm on a number of different targets. It's the main complaint about the round. As for JHP's, I know they're illegal for military use, but that's crap. There's nothing humane about shooting someone anyway, but I won't open that can of worms...

    SUPPORT FROM FRIENDS

I hear where you're coming from.. but it's to be expected. Best to explain best you can what/why you want/will be doing and that it's your dream. If they can't respect you for that, you're better off without them anyway.

    The Great Gun Control Debate

A cash grab indeed... and something to try and brainwash the uneducated citizens on firearms, that this magic registry will let them sleep more sound at night. All LE can do is look up legally registered guns! This is a total waste. The Liberals never did anything worthwhile for this country...

    Insufficient Weapons/Ammo?

I'm out of my lane? Do you even know what I'm discussing here? I commented on the handgun portion, and you're arguing for a rifle cartridge? Obviously, one wouldn't argue that a .45 would be best used as a primary weapon. The main problem with the 9mm is overpenetration. Even with FMJ, the...

Pray that we reverse what the Lieberals have done... too bad we can't get the billions of dollars back.

    Insufficient Weapons/Ammo?

If soldiers are looking for more stopping power, a .45acp with 200-230gr JHP's will do the trick.

It's a proven cartridge, that's for sure. I'd love to have my share of the meat that was taken in back on the country over the years.

Found ammo for it.. brass and bullets as well. Ammo is running me 100 bucks a box, 60 bucks per 50 brass and 35 bucks per 100 bullets. Not sure the weight. Safe to say I'll only buy one box of bullets.

I like the model 94... the model 64 I find is even a better shot. I hate those guys who claim the .30-30 cartridge isn't powerful or accurate enough. It's ballistics are a hell of a lot better than some of the crap I've seen people hunting with.
