All Things Red Poppy Merged Thread (sales, copyright, usage, bans/restrictions, etc.)

Good point, lol. I certainly would break company policy. And a thoroughly disgusting company policy it is.

All Things Red Poppy Merged Thread (sales, copyright, usage, bans/restrictions, etc.)

Just as a note on this, I was at the Gateway McDonald's here in Oromocto today and I saw a tray of poppies there. I'm not sure if that McDonald's is breaking company policy but it was there.

    Gnr Keyes-Oliver - 30 Fd Regiment - Killed in Training Accident in Petawawa - 25 Oct 08

Stand Easy The din of combat swirls, deafening noise, acrid smoke Familiar, long awaited voice exclaims "End of mission!" Guns silent, peace and calm set in "Rounds on target, mission complete" the soothing voice spoke Stand easy, your toil is complete Slowly settling down, resting weary feet...

    CAN's "War Poet" at warpoet.ca

I'll be completely honest here, after having read some of the greats (Sigfried Sassoon, Wilfred Owen et al) and some of the not so greats (Rupert Brooke), I can't say that I'm particularily impressed. Yes, it is a start, however war poetry, in my mind, comes from the soldiers who live and fight...

Looking for a speaker for a Rememberance Day service at a Calgary High School

I'm uncertain as to which section to put this in. However, I was wondering if there is anyone on this site, preferably with operational experience, who would be willing to go in and speak at St. Mary's High School in Calgary for a Rememberance Day service. I know it's somewhat short notice but...

    Troops Out Now - Guelph

They just don't get it, do they? I'm debating going to this, just to see what kinda of propaganda bullcrap they are spewing.

New life for the M109 ???

Ah, so they've moved them off the floor? It was nice, however, being able to poke around those 2 guns over the summer. I recall one Sgt making a comment that it was a real shame that they had been retired. That said, it's good to hear that at least one of the guns have gone to a good home. Is it...

Sound off: What are you doing right now? Aside from the obvious being on here..

Just watching election results roll in, studying safety and reading about the artillery in Chechnya. Boring night on course I suppose. lol

ROTP at Civilian University 2004 - 2018 [Merged]

Here's a quotation from the Milnet.ca guidlines which can be found in the Administration portion of the forum: I know it's the internet but, as per the regulations of this board, I suggest that when you post here, you make use of proper spelling and punctuation. I've been guilty of not...

ROTP at Civilian University 2004 - 2018 [Merged]

I'm not trying to be a jerk here, however, I'm trying to drive home the point that if you're looking to go into the arts stream, regardless of which university you choose, you'd best work on your spelling and grammar.

ROTP at Civilian University 2004 - 2018 [Merged]

I hope you're not under the impression that being in the Faculty of Arts, you won't be doing any math. Unless things have changed drastically since I was in first and second year (as well as prep year) you'll be taking math.

Miss Spelling + Their They're There - George's Rants Both Together

<rant>Maybe it's my English degree or maybe it's the fact that I find poor grammar and spelling thoroughly abhorrent, but I'm inclined to agree with the tone of this thread. I know people will start crying foul because they feel they're (not their or there) being picked on but something has to...

ROTP at Civilian University 2004 - 2018 [Merged]

I'm somewhat dating myself, however, back in 2003 when I was accepted, i had an overall high school average of 87% with a strong extra-curricular background. Even though the recruiter had told me I would get senior applicant or nothing at all, that August I went to St. Jean for prep year. If RMC...

    The Royal Military College Saint-Jean

CMRSJ is effectively either a one or two year program. What I mean by that is a candidate is either selected to attend prep year and first year at CMR or solely first year before continuing on to RMC for the final 3 years.

    C7A2 sling Recommendations?

I know that I cannot comment on actual operational employment of a sling, however my personal preference is a single point sling since from my training experience, it allows me to use my compass, check my map, do my paperwork at the director, etc while at the same time not having to put my...
