Going down to the unit would be your best bet to find out if they're hiring or not. They are the best ones to talk to since they have all the information.

I'd recommend leaving the xbox and tv at home as you will have more important things to worry about on basic. Besides it will likely be locked up for a very long time and in the end it's more stuff you have to carry with you. 

For the reserves they were probably talking about the co-op program where you get credits for doing BMQ and BMQ-L however you don't *have* to go onto your MOC training after if you don't want to (though if you went though all that, why wouldn't you?) Still if you do reg force BMQ and decide...

The day after I put my CT/OT in I got an email back saying that my unit needs to send in some paperwork so an interview can be booked. This is happening a lot faster then it did with MP, it took me several months to hear back with that trade. So now I'm just waiting to hear back from the CFRC. 

I just put in another CT/OT, this time for Traffic Tech.

I know plenty of people who have "desk jobs" who are very fit. It all depends on your personal motivation and it's your responsibility to keep fit.

Why the poll? Just do a search of the BMQ and recruiting forums and you will find tons of good info. My advice would be to do what you're told when you're told, be in the best shape possible, and don't screw over your buddies on course (work as a team)

I had my interview for MP and it went well. Now I get to sit back and play the waiting game. I was told I have a chance at the MPAC which is good news. Though I didn't know this but apparently you can apply for as many trades as you want when doing a CT. So I'm going in to the CFRC on Tuesday...

The only full time course I've done with the army was my DP1 (5 weeks in wonderful Meaford :P) Though DP2 can be run on weekends, like mine was. I have heard of some weekend DP1 courses, but those are extremely rare and not too likely to happen anytime soon.

It might have an effect, but the best thing you can do is get back into contact with them and show them you're serious about joining up. However, Infantry is currently full so you're going to be waiting a long time to get in.
