All it takes is a few seconds to look below this thread and a bit of reading to see that right now the forces is not hiring right now. In April they will start processing applications and hiring new people (though for in demand trades processing will happen sooner) Infantry is very low on the...
I'm not in the unit but I can answer some of your questions:
Most reserve units are full for the year, and are on shutdown for the Christmas holiday, however when they reopen you can go down and talk to the units you're interested in. Though with the way the economy and defense budget is, most...
They give weapons to recruits in week 2? Wow. I thought they didn't do that until around week 5 or so? Good job passing your weapons handling test though.
There's lots of info out there about JTF2 already. However if you want to join JTF2 pick a trade that you would enjoy (any trade that you would be happy in for many years) and then get really good at your trade, then apply for JTF2. Don't pick a trade you *think* would be a good stepping stone...
Like I said, there wouldn't be much to show except inspections, PT, some Conformation Of Combat Knowlege, and drill classes with a few interviews with candidates here and there. That gets boring after a while.
There wouldn't be a point in making a Basic Up for reservists. There wouldn't be much to show for a weekend course aside from inspections, pt and drill (basically all that was shown for the reg force) and it wouldn't be as interesting. A summer course.....you could put more stuff in but even...
My favorite memory would have to be watching a MCpl jack up our course officer on BMQ-L. Here's the story:
We were out on a field ex in lovely old Meaford and had practiced field craft and nav all day and finally got to crawl into our hoochies to get some sleep. But then before the crack of...
Well like GW said all trades are currently closed so you'll have to wait a while. Also a Med Tech can be posted anywhere so just because you join up as Navy doesn't mean you'll be serving on a ship. Best advice I can give is stay active and do a lot of research about your trade. Good luck.
Your questions have been asked and answered over and over again just search, young Padawan.
Though to see what units are hiring talk to each unit recruiter, though some of your trade choices might not be available depending on what reserve units are in your area.
That might be so, but the Foreign Legion has one of the toughest basic training courses around (they do things that in any other military would be strictly forbidden). It takes a very special kind of person to serve in the Legion, and I don't think a lot of people looking to get into the CF are...
No reservists cannot do full time BMQ in St. Jean. You can either do it part time on weekends or depending on where you live you might be able to do it over the summer (4 weeks) If you want to work full time, join the reg force. It would be faster to wait to join the reg force than to do a CT...
Also to add to that, a lot of class B (full time) positions have been cut. There's still work out there but it usually goes to trained troops, you wouldn't send a no-hook on something like that. Most reservists work full time in the summer and after your DP1/QL3 you might be able to get a short...
