I havent heard anything like that yet around the Sqn in Pet but who knows. The only problem with it is that there are still Cpls waiting for their 5's course so the Ptes can't get on course and therefore could not get promoted. The same would be true for PLQ and Cpl promotions to Master Jack (...
Obviously I need to explain myself better. I handled it exactly like that. When I found out, I confronted the guy myself ( as best as can be considering he is posted to the other side of the country ) and no I did not send it through my chain. I won't send it through my chain but I do think that...
Patrick,
Thanks for the friendly advice. 9er domestic and I are stong as an ox and it's not a real issue. It was more just an observation about what kind of lack of morals attitude seems to be rampant in the military as a whole. You know all the qliches like what happens in____ stays in____. I...
100% support for testing and I also think it should be random and widespread. In trades like mine that req level 3 clearances or have access to sensitive info/ kit should be tested at any time not just in prep for a roto. Follow the rules and have no fear.
I just don't get the mentality of some of my fellow soldiers. My wife is also in the forces (also a sig) and a few weeks ago she was finishing her 5s course. On the night of her course party she went back to shacks and went to bed ( pretty drunk ) and some bozzo from her course , about an hour...
When I split up with my ex-wife I had my children as my next of kin and I could use my LTA to see them once per year. Since that time my girlfriend and I became common-law ( we are a service couple and in the same trade so it was nesessary to do so ). Now the army considers her my next of kin...
Last time 2 sigs went to Wainwright we all were paid FA regardless of where we were sleeping. We had signed advances to collect TD and about 1/2 way through we were told it was being changed to FA as per some policy of CMTC.
It's a good thing too, there are lots of senior guys who have been un-able to get out of 2 Sigs for a long time and they get mighty pissed off when the "kids" get posted straight to the Bns.......not that I'm one of those senior guys or anything ( None of your freaking senior jokes either...
All of you guys should have a Racal whip, a SPD (spud) 1 and some co-ax. After that as CRC says cam poles will do as a mast or in a pinch mount it into a tree. Our sqn was tasked far less to support this year. We usually have reg force 215 out with units to help work out comms and 2 or 3 RRBs...
In reply to the origional question of this thread; I served on Roto 0 in Afghanistan as a SDS driver/signaller. It was a great job and I was outside of the wire everyday. On a deployment now you could be working in the battle group cp and never leave the wire or you could wind up as a rifle...
I know and I know the Master Jack who threatens you (I used to work for or with all of your staff ). Trust me when I tell you that sending you back to anywhere is'nt as easy as it sounds. That being said if you guys only have about 2 weeks left then it's best to stick with the rules and save it...
