    Sig Op

    Most of them just came back from Roto and are not in the right mind-set to be asked to re-sign. They are good sigs but most are a bit tired and disillusioned right now.

    The Life of a Sig Op

    We were the class that graduated and then went directly to Op Athena Roto 0 so that would have been 2 1/2 years ago. Some of us have already done our second tour and they still make noises about sending us on SQ..lol

    TCCCS not compatible with US radios?!

    We have gotten pretty good at sending data via the 138's secure (hyperterminal or SAS data) lately and they are not part of the TCCCS system. Also as far anew kit goes; the wide are just binned the band 4 and the band 5 in favor of a past-line of sight system (satalite).

    X=mas 2005 posting message

    CFSCE is the Canadian Forces School of Communications and Electronics ( in Kingston). PRETC is the "holding/training " unit at Borden (not sure of full name). PRETC is there to give you needed training (SQ and basic driver) while you wait for a slot to be available for you at CFSCE. I did OJT at...

    Walrus,  In order to start your trades apprentice training (QL3) you have to be qualified on our trucks so you will have to complete BDT (basic driver trg) before going on your 3's. As I said before we are not (yet anyway) doing SQ at Pet so the odds are you will do it before you go on your...

    choices of postings

    You will find that your options for posting will rely heavily on who has the next major deployment. If Pet is heading back to Afghanistan then they become the priority and most folks graduating from CFSCE will go there. Same goes for Edmonton when they are ramping up. My course was initialy...

    Non issue kit on QL3 Sig Op

    The school gets real anal about issued vs. non-issued kit. Some of the guys from here in Pet got told they couldnt use the new ballistic eye-wear they were issued because nobody at the school had it yet! We (sometimes) get new kit early in the game and the school gets pissy about it. The Sarge...

    Canadian Special Operations Regiment (CSOR)

    No complete unit as far as I know. Volunteers have been requested from the Sqn in Pet. We have also been told that almost none of us will be going anywhere until 2007.

    Family Care Plan (FCP) [Merged]

    Sorry if this is a dumb question but what is FCA? Another question; me and my other half have been living together for 2 years and are both service members, this means that we are considered common-law by the military (haven't signed anything though). I have 2 children living in BC ( I am in...
