Canada should order a couple more C17's for 2009  with options on an additional pair, even if it delays C130J or FWSAR programs.

Should order another pair minimum. How about 12 C-17's, 12 C-130J's, 12 FWSAR aircraft, my dream airlift for Canada.

If we order A400M's, in lieu of C-130J,  will have to buy additional C-17's to replace the C-130's that have to be retired before the A400M's can be delivered. More C-17's will be fine with me, I believe Boeing has funded 10 more unsold C-17's to take production till 2010.

Bloomberg reports Global Heavylift has approached Boeing with a $10.8 billion dollar letter of intent for C-17 purchase.

Hope they were smart enough to take options for a couple additional airframes.

The RAF did try to sell off short model C-130J's but as yet have had no takers. Mod pins hopes on Boeing C17 amid Airbus doubts.

RAF seek's additional C-17's, to add to four in service and a fifth aircraft to be delivered 2007, 3 additional aircraft to follow for a total of 8.

Have they given any thougth to using an LAV III as a tow vehicle for M777.

IIRC the Liberals had a C-130 purchase in works, I do not recall the Liberals planning to buy C-17's.
