The Depression / Anti Depressants Merged Thread

Hey Micah, welcome to the forums. First, thank you for posting in the right thread. If you notice the post above yours, its mine, so I have a bit of an idea what you're going through. Anxiety is normal. If you haven't had a history of it, it could be situational. If its a little more lengthy...

    What do they know?

In any case, based on the puffers alone, you will NEED to see your doctor to get a note. I would suggest going to see your doctor first, just to see what you may or may not have. Better than going in saying "I don't know" and "I might" to every answer. My  :2c:

guarantee  Honestly, if you want to go full time, Regular Force is better tailored for that. Take a look at some of the part-time reserves jobs and full-time jobs. See what YOU want to do. http://www.forces.ca/en/jobexplorer/browsejobs-70

Hiring figures are coming out in the next week or so to see what trades are open for how many people. I'd say go now.

Canadian Forces Aptitude Test (CFAT) [MERGED]

The CFAT is there to see where you personally stand. Its to see how suitable you are for X trade. Spatial Orientation (Folded paper diagrams etc) can not be taught, either you understand it, or you don't. Its not there to call anyone stupid, its there to make sure you are able to stand on your...

No Fiera, you did good. The 'exceptions' for reserve recruits going to full BMQ that you mentioned, I have heard of. Someone I know who applied for a PRes Naval Reserves had himself and a few more applicants go through St. Jean for the full course. Only exception I've personally heard of.

I'm pretty much going as far as having all my ROE's attached to my resume. May not be needed, but I like being overprepared than anything.

    Commonwealth Apps

Welcome to Canada! Unfortunately, we do not have the 'Commonwealth' applications as our British cousins overseas, but as a citizen of Canada, that doesn't matter. If you're looking to go to reserves then to reg force, sometimes its better just to go regular force. Reasoning behind that is...

    A few quick questions

Yes. I know this for sure as I applied prior to getting my diploma. As long as you meet the 10th grade prerequisite, apply. When you receive your diploma, bring I into your 4 RC and they will photocopy it an place it in your file. K

Looking for advice & words of wisdom

Hey Naz, you're in the same predicament I WILL be in. The fear of the unknown is always there. I have 2 kids under 3 and a wife who is supportive of me joining the forces. We both understand the first year or so will be hectic (I'm applying for AC Op, AVS Tech, and ATIS Tech). We both KNOW that...

    Process of recruiting

Cloud, the recruiters handle hundreds of the same questions weekly, at work and on the forums if they are part of milnet. As much as the recruiters require an outlet, it could also send the wrong message here. Someone new to the forums could read "I hate people asking the same question- or I...

    Anxiety/OCD/meds (merged)

Hey guys, touching base here. Still nothing as to Medical, but my 'official diagnoses' from my mental breaks in the past now have an official name. Rather than the multitudes of random 'labels' threw at me, my GP suggests that in the past my bout was with adjustment disorder. She informed me...

Thanks for the tip OkanaganHeat. Its not so much the aircrew medical I'm curious about, but just the general Medical that is being eval'd. If I failed the AC Medical then I at least still have by secondary and tertiary choices left. I'm just curious if the overall Medical would pass since I...
