I live in Southern Alberta and as you drive through the small towns in around my home you sometimes see old buildings of the WWII era. In Lethbridge, Claresholm and Ft. MacLeod you can see the buildings that were home to many a commonwealth pilot as they learned their trade.
I was on a flight...
PhilB is right on, except he forgot to mention the Highlanders on average are better looking, smarter, stronger, and better soldiers than the Loyal Eddies. Other than those small items he is absolutely right! ;)
I think a problem exists in the way we structure the Reserve force. There are just to few of them to be expected to be a useful reserve to the regular Army. Many (Most?) countries Reserve Armies are larger than the Regular Army. Perhaps the problem then lies in the total number of Reservists...
Those are just stand ins. We all know that Trinity is one of the leaders of the five. I may be one of the five as well, but I am not allowed to say. MUAH HA HA!!!!! >:D
I served with the Calgary Highlanders in the late 80's and I am course with some Highlander instructors right now. They are first class and a great unit. I am sure the Loyal Eddies are the same. I think whatever untit you go for will be fine. I agree with sigpig, take care of your civilian...
I found the the University time of my life was the easiest to fit in my Reserve training. You are usually done classes by 5:00 p.m. and you usually have weekends off. Unless you take summer classes you have the summer to go on course. It is usually a pretty good fit.
The Reserves give you the...
I had to keep my wife drunk for a year until we married so she thought I was a real catch. Now that she has sobered up she makes me wear a bag on my head. She often wears one too, just in case mine fal :'(ls off.
I was also told it was a $ issue as costs were going through the roof and the money just was not there to make it happen. My question is will the training still be focused on Urban Combat or will it be on something else?
I think most of our troops were excited about the urban combat training...
The reincarnated 5 are humans and are leading humanity to unification with the Cylons (They act intuitively as they are only now becoming aware of their purpose / destiny).
The Cylons in their highest evolution are human. They will come to realize this, but will have to fight a civil war over...
It would be interesting to know what the truth is, you certainly would not know for sure after reading this article. Possibly the paintballs are used to give the effect of being under fire while practicing going for cover? Gee a brilliant article about the Canadian military. What a surprise!
I know my instructor read mine. He made comments about me that were directly related to what I had written. I think it is a great idea and has great value.
I found the New Scientist article I was referring to. A good read if you are interested and have the time.

I agree with what you have said, my point was the drug companies may be able to offer products that will let a person choose if and when they want to sleep. IF that is possible it will have far reaching implications for the military and for society. Personally I am leery of the long-term...
I understand CPP is something we all pay into, so is the Reserve CPP plan different from that? Is it above and beyond the regular CPP? Or is it CPP for the first time being offered to Reservists who may not be paying into it elsewhere?
I am a bit confused about this story. I already contribute to CPP with my full-time job, so a Reserve contribution is really not a big deal for me is it? Wouldn't those who are not currently contributing to CPP be the only ones to benefit from this program? I admit I don't know much about this...
