Prospective student for RMC, worried about extra-curricular activities.

She must have had some really top marks since they are only a part of what they weigh for applicants.

    ROTP after High School Questions

Don't be so bitter Lumber! The pay is pretty good for doing nothing but going to school! :D

ROTP at Civilian University 2004 - 2018 [Merged]

I wore a golf shirt, khakis and dress shoes when I went. The most dressed person was shirt and tie, and the least dressed person was hoodie and jeans, but the office staff told him to never wear that again when dealing with the military. I've also seen someone show up to my Area Support Unit for...

ROTP at Civilian University 2004 - 2018 [Merged]

The CFRC is good about it... The ASU, not so much. I'm still waiting to get paid back for my text books from the start of the term...

    What Was/Is Your Biggest Obstacle?

Eyesight was my main issue too. Just under the mark for V3, and so I missed out on AEC when I applied, but kept going for a V4 trade anyways. Not sure how it's turned out yet since I haven't done BMOQ yet haha.

    ROTP 2008-2009

It's been a while since I've heard from our current year of ROTP people. We are already half way done the semester everyone! On my end at UBC here, midterms are finished now, and term paper season has begun. It's time to hit the library and gather a rather long and arduous collection of journal...

    New book: 'Kandahar Tour'

I just picked up a copy from my university's bookstore the other day. They had a whole bunch on display and so people will notice it when they go by. I'm very impressed with it so far, though I'm only 1/4 of the way through. I laugh a bit once in a while because the professors who wrote the book...

    Passchendaele movie

I am hoping this movie sets a trend among Canadian film makers saying that it's OK to make movies about Canadian history. I for sure would like to see a movie on Vimy Ridge, as well as some of the Canadian involvement in WWII. We have a lot of history that never gets seen on the screen, and a...

    Passchendaele movie

I saw the movie last night and loved it! I didn't go in expecting an all war movie, and so I enjoyed every minute. I'm not a hard core movie critic though and so I'm easy to please. I really did enjoy the last battle scene though! Theater was packed where I was, and all my friends loved it...

Legal case against God dismissed (in the U.S.)

So just because the Senator has been to God's house means he can't file charges against him? ;) "Sir, this man is pressing charges against you for reckless endangerment." "Nah, it's cool, he's been to my house." "Oh, never mind then, case dismissed!" The reasoning about lawyers is true in...

    Paid Education [Merged]

As long as you have the receipts and the book list, they are happy. You basically saved the government some money by going with used. Personally I have a hard time reading past all the crap people highlight in used books... This thread could probably move to the ROTP thread, since that covers...

    The aliens are coming tomorrow

I wonder how long it will take them to get from Quebec to BC... The 15th is almost over and I haven't seen any lights in the sky yet... I'm feeling left out.

Battlestar Galactica (Beware....Possible SPOILERS! read at your own risk)

I think it's a good thing I read the comments before getting curious about the links. I think I will avoid clicking on them. I can't believe it! I bought season 2 and started to re-watch it... It turns out I missed a whole bunch of it on my first time through, so I'm discovering all kinds of...

The 2008 Canadian Election- Merged Thread

As much as I'd like to see something else, I know we are going to have a Conservative Minority again, Liberals as opposition, NDP after that, and perhaps one or two seats for Green this time. If the Liberals and NDP could get along however, they could steal the confidence of the house and force...

    Aerospace Control Officers-AEC [merged]

That's essentially it. They want me to turn 21 before I can get it done to make sure my eyes have stopped changing, even though my prescription has been solid for the past 2 years now. My optometrist said that because of that I might be able to get in a bit early. It will have to be taken a bit...

    Aerospace Control Officers-AEC [merged]

I haven't said much around here in a very long time after I got chucked into Air Support for ROTP, but now things might be going my way again. I was talking to my optometrist who told me in about a year, I will be able to have my laser eye surgery done! That means I will be able to qualify for...

ROTP at Civilian University 2004 - 2018 [Merged]

I'm in arts and I've done zero math! Thank goodness that UBC doesn't have a math requirement in the faculty of arts anymore. ;) Just so you know Marshall, if they want to release yet another new ROTP questionnaire, they will do so when they feel like it. 5000 people could have applied already...

Battlestar Galactica (Beware....Possible SPOILERS! read at your own risk)

Agreed, and not only Iran, but look at Russia selling nuclear arms to Venezuela. Not to even mention the fact that North Korea successfully detonated a nuclear device. Just because they say they have disbanded their program, doesn't mean a thing. They did it once, and can do it again if they...
