    IAP in Kingston

Chamberlain essentially said it in his next post. I don't mean to say that RMC will actually be giving everyone a sophisticated lesson on each trade, but I do mean that RMC cadets will have a bit more exposure to the military environment which can as a result lead to finding out about certain...

    IAP in Kingston

Another thing is for us Civvi U people, we don't get that same kind of exposure to the different trades during university, so we get told "You were accepted to X" then called back later and said "Well, you are actually in Operations Support" we don't find out what trade we get into until later...

    New recruiting numbers

Med Techs are purple, if they really want you, they will offer you whatever your fit in, even if land wasn't your first choice. Element doesn't matter for something like a med tech though, you could be wearing an air force uniform and be working with a field ambulance unit.

    IAP in Kingston

It's for all of us. I'm civvi U and I won't get my trade until after IAP/ BOTC. I don't have to wait after that though because I'm already pretty much done first year haha, 2 finals come April and that's it!

As far as I know the requirements for reserves in the case of a careers as a med tech should be the same as the reg force qualifications, which means you need to have graduated high school with credits in grade 12 biology and chemistry. You must also hold a valid driver's licence (Most likely...

Acceptances to RMC - When sent out?

Well if you read the thread so far you will notice most of us are all for ROTP. Some, like myself have been accepted to carry on at Civvi U, I suggest you change your previous post however about your trade. Personal security issues the way they are, your would be better off saying 'Air...

Acceptances to RMC - When sent out?

Very lucky! I just looked at the recruiting site page to check on that one, and it seems they do allow a certain amount of BSc degrees for Airfield Engineering (Now called Construction Engineer apparently). Upon checking the other engineering trades it seems a couple of Science degrees are also...

    Calling out for ammo tech!!!!

A trade that is really hurting for personnel.

Acceptances to RMC - When sent out?

If the trade requires a certain degree, then you need that degree whether you are going DEO or ROTP. Neither choice is really 'better' than the other except that people who already hold degrees are limited in their choices. That usually isn't a problem for most people though. In both cases you...

    Pictures of Aircraft Cockpit

Yeah, it sure does haha. All it's missing is "Insert (4) Tokens" flashing on the HUD. :D I also like the Starfighter, it's a real classic. Too bad the thing was so dangerous.

Acceptances to RMC - When sent out?

Are you sure they didn't say applications were due for selection round two?

    Pictures of Aircraft Cockpit

I have to say, comparing the cockpit of the new F-35 'Lightning II' to the original P-38 Lightning, I still prefer the old war bird. :D There is just a feeling you don't get with modern fighters, that you do with a warbird. (Of course any fighter pilots or former fighter pilots are going to...

Montrealer sentenced to death in Saudi Arabia

Don't worry, it took me even longer to catch it the first time I read it. It's a pretty interesting way of looking at things though isn't it?

Montrealer sentenced to death in Saudi Arabia

Here is the article I referred to in my above post: http://oak.cats.ohiou.edu/~thompsoc/Body.html It is truly interesting to read, I certainly enjoyed it once I figured out the meaning behind it.

Montrealer sentenced to death in Saudi Arabia

This whole discussion (If it can really be called that) about values in the Middle East and the West really drives home some important points I learned in my Cultural Anthropology class this year. Now to start I want to say I have no experience in the middle east, since we studies Africa and...

    So I'm on my way

Don't sweat the drill, there was a saying in cadets, and since drill is the same essentially, it should apply to reg forces as well. Drill is 90% mental and 10% physical. Just pay attention, and make sure you ask questions if you didn't understand something. You'll be doing it so much that it...

    Subsidized Education - ROTP

Now we shouldn't really be turning this into a debate about which degrees do more work. I am in arts, and I don't appreciate it when people assume we do less work. Engineers and Science students end up taking courses that are intensive in math, and communication of scientific ideas, but arts...
