    SITREP ON MILITIA INFANTRY UNITS

Im sorry, can someone enlighten me on the pistol thing?

To keep recruits, US Army boot camp gets revamped.

Precicely why they shouldnt give it to them. They should learn to deal with not getting what they want.  And sure, its good that this technique, consisting of the instructors helping the recruits achieve something is helping recruits attein their full potential, but isnt it just as important...

Anyone into simulators IE: Aircraft or Armoured

Well, first of all, I think you'd rather an air force simulation game rather than an army one in that case. The only thing I can think of are flight sims, if you plan on becoming a pilot. I imagine they can help, although very slightly. At the very least, you'll do better on the aircraft...

    SITREP ON MILITIA INFANTRY UNITS

Well, I'm still green, so tell me if I've misunderstood something... but doesnt even a Sgt, with plenty of time in, a subordinate to the freshly trained 2LT?

    SITREP ON MILITIA INFANTRY UNITS

I agree, that is quite dangerous. Plenty of people agree that the average reservist is not up to the same standard as the average reg, it seems. Couldnt it be argued, then, that that indicates that the reservist could use the training and experience of tour to more benefit than a reg force...

Wouldnt the same be accomplished firing from the hip?

    C6

Personally, I found that the C6 was fun, but the C9 was funner. I fired the C6 first, and when I fired, I could tell that not all my rounds were on target because of the recoil. Then I fired the C9, expecting the same. I looked through the sight, and as I fired, I noticed that I could keep the...

    Treadmill Timewasters

Nah, I realise that. Its just that during the winter I use the treadmill, and I was wondering why comming out of the winter I found it so much harder to run outside than on the treadmill, and wondered if I was wasting my time on it.

    Treadmill Timewasters

Ahh, yup, I realise that. I was working under the assumption that the treadmill would be inclined sufficiently to equate them.

    Treadmill Timewasters

Ok... so if my muscles can handle running for an hour, and I could run on the treadmill for an hour (bringing my cardio to the same point as I would on the track), would I be able to run for an hour on the track too?

    Treadmill Timewasters

I understand that... but if it gets your heart rate to the same point as running outside...?

    Treadmill Timewasters

So exactly why do I find it harder to run outside than on a treadmill? I can go for quite a long time on the treadmill without even breathing hard, but its not the same for running outdoors.

    Treadmill Timewasters

While we're on the subject of treadmills (kind of)... I realise that the treadmill is not a good substitution for actually running outside on a track... but I'd like to know exactly what running on a track has over a treadmill? Besides the obvious (muscle endurance), is there a difference in...

Heights in Basic traning (Fear of Heights)

Wow, really? I remember the first time I rapelled... it was right after I finished my BMQ. I went on adventure training with my unit... We rapelled off of a cliff that was actually pretty high. Made me pretty confident in my ability to tie swiss seats.

Heights in Basic traning (Fear of Heights)

Gee... Im sure there are plenty of people in the army with an extreme fear of getting killed. Can they be excused from fighting the enemy?

    Reserve rank vs. Reg. rank

What if the person isnt competent? One of the biggest problems I find with how the Cpl is a "gimme" rank is that, in the reserves, its not impossible for a new Cpl to have much much less experience than a Pte.
