Future Canadian Airborne Capability and Organisation! Or, is it Redundant? (a merged thread)

Future Canadian Airborne Capability and Organisation! Or, is it Redundant? (a merged thread)

I was reading the Brit Para jump thread, and it made me wonder if the airborne capability is still useful? Please be clear this is not an attack on the airborne or it's brotherhood.  It is me wondering if the situation(s) that developed/fostered this tactic of dropping troops into battle is...

Reserves and School...should I do it?

Time management is the key.  School and the reserves is a great fit.  You will find the time require for the reserves is not as demanding as it appears, at least that was my experience.

    How to pack a rucksack

One word...TIGHT. I don't think it matter the type of ruck you use, '82 or '64 (it's personal preference) but make sure you pack it tight. If the ruck, or things in the ruck, or the valise are bouncing or moving around, it is harder to carry. I agree with 1985, I think it is better to have...

    Ignorance of civvies...

I was 17 when I joined and when I came home with the paperwork my dad asked "what took so long"....I guess that's what national service will do to you.. I faced the same type of "discussion" with fellow student's when at school.  However, I in hindsight I should have seen it coming from a...
