Just saw the interview. Great job by General Hillier but agreed that Vice-Admiral McFadden could have done a much better job in selling the Navy and connecting with the Canadian public. It almost seemed like the interviewer kind of gave up trying to get his questions in near the end..
I agree that such a document for naval reservists is absolutely necessary...however I'm not sure if career progression has really been clearly defined for NAVRES by the top with such issues as the 'MARS Staff officer' types that are essential to the running of the reserve system but have limited...
It looks to me that orthodontic treatments are available to the plan member at 50% coverage and only to the covered spouse or child based on the set out conditions.
$25/year for this type of coverage is definitely a great deal!
Congratulations Kirsten and other grads of the program! Out of curiosity, when they mention that its a two year program for the bachelor's degree, is this 3 years compressed into 2? Or is this because its based on a masters program that its 2 years? Thanks.
I think this is a well intentioned move. However, I wonder since its only being issued to individuals dealing with the Muslim community regularly, will it be seen as the new standard resulting in other female officers without the standard issue head coverings then 'refused' entry to a mosque...
Hey Stoker, I might be a bit out of the loop on this but could you elaborate a bit on the shore based and ship based class C positions that are coming? Thanks.
I guess my unit must have missed the memo on this then. We had a military nurse visit us a while ago (medical care coordinator for reserve units in the area...forget the proper name for these individuals) and when our CO posed the question I raised earlier about reservist MO's providing...
Just another question for the medical folks out there, if a reservist is injured while performing his/her duties and therefore needs to see a military MO, is there ever any possibility of seeing a reservist military MO? I believe the answer is no as in the past when we've had members injured at...
I agree, I personally think a uniform is a uniform and you can have uniforms for doing physical/active work (work dress) or office work (3B's etc.). Not sure why there is this need to wear one uniform in route to work, then change just to be at work, and then change again just to go home...
I wholeheartedly agree with this. In fact, didn't our former CDS say that all members should be going to work in their dress of the day in order to increase exposure for the CF as part of OP Connection?
Would you have an ideal uniform in mind that would be suitable as work dress but still...
It's an interesting idea, I think the US has a similar program. I believe this would be something more geared towards the reg force however which would be good for the civie-U ROTP types who arn't required to have much military exposure during the school year. May be difficult to gain...
