U.S. Politics 2017 (split fm US Election: 2016)

What do you mean moving? Have you never scene DC during a normal day? Traffic during special events are an experience I would not wish on my worst enemy. (Well maybe Trump)  ;D One of my coworkers had to stay home today becasue she had no way out of her DC neighborhood, as all of the...

    US Election: 2016

What makes you think that would be the outcome? If Biden had run this year and became the Dem's nominee, he would easily defeated Trump, as Biden championed the cause of the middle and working class which was the major group that Trump pandered to. The outcome may be less certain if the GOP...

    US Election: 2016

We already have that in one respect or another. The ARRA which was part of the stimulus put in place incorporated a Buy America clause for any federaly funded infrastructure project. It stipulated that all iron or steel used for construction must be American sourced. There was an exception for...

If America adopts Canada's health care system

But as I pointed out, It will take 60 votes to pass any proposed replacement. The repeal is inserted in a budget bill which arcane rules allow only a simple majority to pass under the reconciliation rules. But the replacement cannot be introduced under that process, so it can be filibustered...

If America adopts Canada's health care system

It's not legit. Nothing has been voted on, and the GOP suddenly came to the realization that if they repeal it, they own whatever they replace it with. And they are also getting pushback within their own ranks about repealing without having an acceptable plan to replace it at the same time...

    US Election: 2016

Add to that the fact that Monica Crowley who is up for a senior director position on the NSC has plagerized for many of her columns, her book (which the publisher has pulled from the shelves), and to top it off her PhD dissertation. I can see this nomination going down in flames. The tweets...

    US Election: 2016

If any of the crap that has come out today becomes varified, grows legs and starts to walk I wouldn't give him the rest of the year. But the key point is becomes varified. I'm taking it with a grain of salt. Apparently this has been making the rounds for months within the intell community...

    Merry Christmas

All the best of the holiday season to everyone! And take some time to check on those who may not be having a festive time, and let them know you're there if they need help getting through it. It could make their holiday just a little bit better.

    US Election: 2016

And you thought Trump would be bad for the country.  ;D Oh, and your facts must be wrong because Trump had the biggest electoral college win in the history of the United States, and had the biggest margin ever in the popular vote if they didn't count all those millions of illegal votes cast for...

    US Election: 2016

I read something a while ago that looked at the vote efficiency of each candidate, or the number of wasted votes, votes in excess of the majority to win in each district or state. Clinton wasted 10 million votes, while Trump only wasted 8.5 million. It puts into perspective one of the issues...

General Mattis’ next mission: Destroying the PTSD victim myth

I personally think that having several former generals in cabinet or advisory positions may well be a moderating factor (Flynn being the exception) to keep Trump from going dirctly to the military option every time something happens that he doesn't like.
