I agree 100%.. i am being kitted Thurs. night and regardless of whether I get OD or CADPAT I am just grateful to be able to wear the uniform shortly!  :salute:

If there ever was another war to that scale, I believe many Canadians would serve. Doesn't look like we'll ever really have a WW3 though, thankfully! Its a guerilla war, and our freedom is being fought for by a smaller number of more well trained, skilled soldiers.

The kit part would depend on whether your local armouries carries uniforms/clothing I'd imagine. I have to wait a couple weeks as we were fitted for all our kit and now we have to wait for it to be brought from another city.

I was sworn in with 5 others (6 total) at about 7:00 pm, we were fitted for uniforms and had the hordes of paperwork done by 10:30 or so.

Yes you can join the reserves at 16, someone i was sworn in with was 16, and wasn't even turning 17 anytime soon. Military Brat is right, during the q/a period with a sgt the question came up and you aren't eligible for deployment voluntary or ordered until you are 18.

I was measured in in Cadpat sizes on Thurs and they said I'd be getting Cadpat. Personally I don't care, I'm just proud to be wearing a uniform soon .. if I have to wait 8 mths to get CadPat ah well!  :cdn:
