Excellent info, thanks for posting it!
On a somewhat related note, bitter pill for my beloved G&SF as during WWII the Foresters were split and separated into below Company sized elements and therefore no Battle Honours were ever received. Doesn't detract though from the fine work all personnel...
That was what I thought of with the OP's question. For the RegF Infantry the former SQ (now BMQ-Land) was removed as part of the qualification requirement a few years back when BMQ was lengthened and the DP1 was also expanded to include PO's that were once part of SQ.
The change just recently...
Great pics. Question though, what is the plane with the Canadian flag on it? I thought at first it was a CT-155 Hawk but the plane in the image has 2 engines vice 1.
I think both are important. Having a personal and professional relationship with your soldiers to look after their welfare is important for leaders to truly be able to look out for their personnel, but at the same time no matter which chain of command those soldiers are moved on to there is a...

I'm sure I'm not the only one watching all of this with a good amount of worry on if the project will follow through on the original line of intent. Cost overruns and expensive plans and designs for these ships is not what we need, affordable and effective is.
Very good points, but I would argue that one of the reasons a case is made to have a large(er) standing army that is well trained and equipped is due to the fact that the days of trading space for time is gone when referring to your own back yard. Warfare can move at such a rapid pace in this...
This is a great story from you posted and is in the article. For $17 I think I might just have to add it to my collection.
Thanks for bringing it to our attention.
