All you need is the minimum for your age and you pass the PT test. That is all the merit boards care about.

You have to do a self test on the 2.4 km and write your time in on your initial application, but for the formal PT test, most, if not all recruiting centers do the step test. Either way, they are using it to calculate your VO2 max and you need a score of 39 or something to pass if you are a male...

My recruiting center is expecting to hear something by the end of the month, but I haven't gotten the call yet..

As long as it doesn't restrict you from doing your job, you should be good to go. Was that way for me, I had asthma when I was young but since I've gotten over it they didn't care.

If they want you in PT gear when you show up, they will tell you. They told me and I showed up in PT gear. If they don't tell you one way or the other, ask or just show up in street clothes rather than being the only one dorked out in PT gear when you walk in.
