Started thinking about it summer of '05.  Didn't proceed because I knew I couldn't meet the fitness requirements. December of '07, decided to change that.  Lost 70 pounds.  Application submitted last week.

Like RyanRG, definitely fitness.  I decided that I wanted to join the reserves last December, and since then have shed more than a quarter of my body weight.  I'm hoping be ready by summer 2009.

I went to visit today in Toronto.  Thanks and well done to the crew - there were lots of them around, and very friendly when responding to questions.  They let visitors access quite a lot of the main deck.  Got myself an FFH 339 ballcap.
