    Afghan Medals Process (merged)

I took care of H&A in KAF for 9 and a half months in the NCE, along with other duties, but H&A was "supposed" to be my primary role. Medals, boy do pers get worked up over these.  This includes the lowest to highest ranks. SWASM doesn't come into play anymore.  Hasn't for a while.  Besides...

Posting Policy-Restricted (IR) & Prohibited moves [MERGED]

CDN Aviator, First, my response was not directed towards you.  To say that "reality in so far as it has applied to you" is not correct.  I actually read the IRP Directive.  I actually read the leave policies.  I actually ask and get responses in email from the Brookfield rep so as to cover...

Posting Policy-Restricted (IR) & Prohibited moves [MERGED]

I am telling pers what is reality out there, not what it should be.  I agree that it is silly that we must make our RFD so close to the close of the new home, but this is what Brookfield is telling everybody, including my pers being posted and me.  Brookfield wanted my RFD to be on the day of my...

Posting Policy-Restricted (IR) & Prohibited moves [MERGED]

Captloadie stated, "As for the relocation leave issue, it isn't a MUST for the CO to grant. He can deny the requested dates for a myriad of reasons, just like any other leave he signs off on. The policy just states he shouldn't without justification. I'm sure plenty of members can tell stories...

Posting Policy-Restricted (IR) & Prohibited moves [MERGED]

I'm currently going through a posting myself.  As other poster's stated, the RFD is way more important than the COS date.  As long as your RFD date is close to your possession date (if buying) or move in date (if renting), they are okay with it.  They will tell you a date that you should change...

Question About Traffic Ticket On Base - "Fail to obey traffic sign - stop sign"

This is what has been part of the problem.  I cannot find much info about the GPTR.  However, about the definition of a stop, the base that I work at has an internet (not intranet) site that has a link to the MP section.  They define what a stop is and it is pretty damn close to what the OHTA...

Question About Traffic Ticket On Base - "Fail to obey traffic sign - stop sign"

Thanks everyone for their comments/advice.  Blackadder1916, I didn't even think about the fact that perhaps the stop sign needs to be moved and that the trees trimmed, etc.  I will try to get this changed so that a similar thing doesn't happen to anyone else in the future.

Question About Traffic Ticket On Base - "Fail to obey traffic sign - stop sign"

Simply put, no, I won't "just pay the friggin ticket".  I know that I did a proper stop.  I asked for advice on the GPTR and thankfully I received some good advice on it and this is much appreciated. Further info: 1. No stop line. Only stop sign. 2. The stop sign is at a street that ends, i.e...

Question About Traffic Ticket On Base - "Fail to obey traffic sign - stop sign"

I searched the forums and could not find an already existing thread to answer my questions.  I'm hoping that my MP friends out there can help me. I received a ticket today while driving in my civy veh on a base in Ontario.  I feel that I came to a stop, but alas, the MP did not feel the same. ...

Allowances - Post Living Differential (PLD) [MERGED]

So, I re-read the CBI and I think that I have the two applicable quotes in my case: 205.452(3) (Application) Subject to paragraph (4), this instruction applies to: a.a member of Group A who meets the conditions of CBI 205.45 (Post Living Differential), and who’s principle residence was located...

Allowances - Post Living Differential (PLD) [MERGED]

Okay, did the search for TPLD and this thread came up.  Here's my situation.  I'm posted to Ottawa, which is a TPLD area.  I'm currently in a TPLD area.  I was told by my current Base's OR that I would lose TPLD, even though I'm going to an area that has it, i.e. Ottawa.  The TPLD in Ottawa is...

Soldier Missing After Morning Run in Edmonton's River Valley

Maybe there is something else going on here, but I just saw the last post and news and they said that the search has been called off.  However, the MCpl has not been found.  What gives????  Why would we stop looking for one of our mbrs????  Anyone ????

The "Posted To Winnipeg" Merged Thread

Well, thanks for all of the advice from everybody, but plans change and I am not being posted to Winnipeg.  Rather, I'm off to Ottawa and I actually have my posting message.  This should be good as my family is from this area.  Thanks again to all.

Physics Degree in the Air Force

This matches with what I know.  I'm an AERE and the ASC course gives you the same credit on merit boards as someone with a Masters.  Currently it does not matter what type of Masters you have, but thought has been given to changing this to only Masters that match with the types of degrees that...

The "Posted To Winnipeg" Merged Thread

I really appreciate the info everyone is giving me.  I have checked out a lot of different websites besides mls.ca and there are some nice houses south of Winnipeg.  I saw a really nice home in New Bothwell that has a lot of land and even a swimming pool!  I have noticed that mls.ca is not...

The "Posted To Winnipeg" Merged Thread

Thanks everyone for the great advice.  I have written down all the locations mentioned and I will be checking them out via mls.ca and google maps.  That streetview is quite awesome as it is almost like you are standing on the street! One more question, if I bought in a place like Niverville or...

The "Posted To Winnipeg" Merged Thread

I don't know yet for sure, but I may be posted to Winnipeg this coming APS.  I have looked on mls.ca to see where I could possibly live, but does anybody have opinions on where to live?  I don't want to get into bidding wars, so I am very open to living outside of the perimeter highways.  I have...
