    Globemaster Using Synthetic Fuel

Not the best source for liquid hydrocarbons, neither is bitumen, but it does provide some alternative I suppose.

    Globemaster Using Synthetic Fuel

The main soild carbon source for this process is coal. The U.S. has the worlds largest known coal reserves at approx. 260 + billion short tonnes.  Canada is around number 10 globally for coal reserves, with about 70% of it in Alberta.

Military readies jets in Labrador over Russian exercises

There are probably only 6 SU-47's total, if that many. Russia's GDP is less than Canada's, and while they heavily favour defence spending and the cost of equipment for them is marginally less than ours there are limits.  Also they have huge legacy system costs to contend with and you have to...

Military readies jets in Labrador over Russian exercises

Could someone with relevant knowledge shed some light on something for me? The CF-18 has a ferry range around 3,300 km (if that is correct), even at Goose Bay the tip of Ellesmere island is about that far away. It seems to me that they could not really respond effectively until an intruder was...

Majority of Afghans want ISAF soldiers to stay!

This is simply not true. If we pulled out of Afghanistan it would turn into a paradise with magical flowers and gum-drops for all! How come people don't get it?

RPAS (was JUSTAS): the project to buy armed Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) UAVs

I approve of this measure as a good first layer in northern surveillance. I hope that this does not replace Mk1 surveillance, but merely allows crews to focus on those areas that call for it.  With the state of the Aurora program who knows, but I'm not an expert on artic or airforce anything.

    Tactical medicine and Safety Pins

I could see the wound being pulled open a bit when try to take the tape off so in that way it may be an issue. But if you are talking about pulling at hair and skin, I don't think that is a factor at all as we're assuming that the person would have a significant wound and who would really...

    PPP for M-109 reset.

Is it physically possible? Yes. Is it a good idea from a fiscal and capability stand point? It is probably not.

    PPP for M-109 reset.

From what I understand, SPA is to be used as part of a large scale armoured advance. I don't see why 'Canada definitely needs something'? Wouldn't those dollars be better spent on more towed-tubes or other capabilities that might be more relevant. Out of my lane, but it just doesn't seem like...

    PPP for M-109 reset.

I'm not sure the 109 is a capability that we desperately need also the money needed to re-activate them would be better spent elsewhere in my opinion.

    The movie called Shooter

I liked the movie, but it is for pretend. What I found really valuable was the special feature documentary on Carlos Hathcock, first class!

    Tom Cruise's alien bunker

Not true at all, it's being built by doozers. They are from out of town. This is a pic of a half completed project that they did for Bruce Wanye. http://digital.ihenson.com/FraggleRock_press/festival/DZ_FR_012.jpg

    Tom Cruise's alien bunker

I bet it'll be way nicer than the one built with school buses that someone posted a link to last week.  That said it will be populated with scientologists. I shouldn't have to much to worry about anyway, I've been working on my anti-Xenu Kung-fu for many years.  I would totally pwn any aliens!!!

    Platoon warrant disregarding chits

This is obviously not a direct answer to your question, but this sounds like something that your platoon commander or CSM might help you out with.

    Four horses drive American policy

T2B, the higher power is in part a normative one. You say the international system is inherently anarchic and Hobbesian, you then say that there is no higher power and authority which nation-states bend too within that anarchic system. In practice one sees all sorts of cooperation...

    The Master Strategy

A vote down for that post, lol!  ::)     I wasn't advocating but trying to explain the thinking behind the position. It also seems odd to me that many don't want any other country to take over for us, or thats the way it seems sometimes. I mean not to put words in the mouths of any of you that...

    The Master Strategy

So what you are saying is that NATO allies should not step up to the plate? And eight years in combat is quitting "...whenever you want"? The area that Canada occupies is vital and CANNOT be left empty, that is true.  But I think what he is getting at is that we have stepped up to the plate...

    The School Funding Thread- Merged

I don't see how I was forcing my views on you a_majoor? It's a forum debate and I'm just saying what I think. I choose to go to a private school! You also proved my point by saying you prefer the conduct of private school kids over public school kids.  I'd love to live in a 'better off'...
