    RCMP Info, discussion

We have had external carriers for years now, but they were navy blue.  We were only issued one, unlike the internal carriers (issued two).  I can't see the RCMP giving out any more than one external carrier just because the color has changed.  I have always been in favor of a straight navy...

Apparently our Div rep announced today a major change in the RCMP uniform that will soon be implemented.  They are going to make the external carrier for the body armour the same color as our duty shirts, and get rid of the tie.  Love the idea of getting rid of the tie, hate the idea of making...

    front hand gard on C-6

Uuuuhhhh, no. If you are firing a C6 from the shoulder, you are either a relative of Andre the Giant, or you are a tool.  I defy anyone to say that they could fire the C6 from the shoulder to ANY degree of accuracy for more than the first round.  "Fun Days" aside.

Ghastly new Traffic jackets.... I go back to the watch next week.  Traffic was not for me.

I concur with all above, but keep the stripe for GD.  And bick... I'm from the "Peg"... I know ALL about winter!!  ;D PG actually gets pretty cold, but nothing like the Prairies.  It hits -30 C for a couple of weeks in winter, but usually floats between -10 C to -20 C.

    Tactical Paramedics

Vancouver ERT for obvious reasons, have better funding and a larger pool to draw from.  I can say for sure that the Prince George Team does not have Medics attached to them.

    Tactical Paramedics

Personally, I think the best thing they could do in the RCMP, is to take active ERT Team members, and cross train them.  They would be designated Paramedic members, but would also be active assaulters or snipers.  The problem is you would have to have several trained per team, in the event that...

    Rebuilding the RCMP

I don't know if that is the case, per se.  The RCMP attempts to fill positions where there is the most need, which is usually BC due to the high number of communities that use us as their Police Force.

It's almost 0330hrs right now... a day in the life of a Police Officer.... I walked into the office today with a cup of coffee, just to check my e-mail.  I got roped into an overtime shift until 1800hrs.  I went to back up another member on a file, and ended up having to do a search warrant for...

Hard to believe or not, the RCMP do not have a tactical medic program.

Question Regarding Maintenance of Body Armour

And I know it's a pain in the ass, but if you can, when storing it, lay it flat.  I've been told that it reduces fatigue on the ballistic fibres (smells like something I stepped in, but that's what my directions said).

    Tactical Paramedics

That's if you are somewhere that has a EMT Tactical unit.  To my knowledge, in all of BC there is no such thing (although there damned well should be...).

    RCMP Info, discussion

Not really.  The RCMP conforms to the same procurement standards as the CF do.  That means that when a new piece of kit is proposed, it has to go through numerous testing and different levels of red tape.  If it is approved, it is farmed out to contract for supply.  Unfortunately, that usually...

    Tactical Paramedics

I'm not sure, to be truthful.  I don't think so, at least not in the traditional sense of being trained specifically for that purpose.  We do have EMT trained members that accompany teams.  They get some rudimentary tactical training, and some of the kit, but do not have to conform to the ERT...

    Rebuilding the RCMP

Crown-Loyal.... I'm hardly a veteran... I still learn something new every day.  But I'm glad to see I didn't upset you further.  There's no harm in asking questions, if you want to know stuff.  As I'm sure you can see from all the different posts, there are people from all walks of life in...

    Rebuilding the RCMP

Crown-Loyal.... perhaps I can clue you in on something here.  As a hopeful member of the RCMP, get used to having a mistake pointed out.  I have read some of your posts, and quite frankly, your heavy on attitude, and light on knowledge.  If you can't take a simple criticism about a spelling...

Crown-Loyal.... If you want to get into the RCMP, start with learning how to spell the motto correctly.  It's "Droit", not "Doit".

The Way "Civilized" People Deal With Cartoons.... *VIDEO*

"Protesters set fire to the Italian consulate in Benghazi, Libya, and clashed with police hours after an Islamic cleric in Pakistan offered a $1 million reward for killing one of the cartoonists." And in other news, The Pope called for the execution of movie producers for the use of the terms...
