The Way "Civilized" People Deal With Cartoons.... *VIDEO*

DSB, I don't know if it's the glass of wine I'm drinking right now or not, but are you saying that we should accept this violence?!?  Nobody has said "We think this way, and so should you."  Some guy made a cartoon in poor taste, and the reaction is mass riots?  Have you seen some of the...

Joe Rogan from Fear Factor, fights a Contestant *VIDEO*

Awesome.  I want to see that episode.

    Warm clothing for the field

I just got a Cabela's catalog in the mail today (don't know why...) and I noticed that they sell the ECWCS Polartec Power Dry stuff that the US Military uses.  Looks like good kit, but again, expensive.

The Way "Civilized" People Deal With Cartoons.... *VIDEO*

Megatron, and Cobra Commander... priceless. Although I have heard that Destro is becoming an informant after Al Qaida would not allow his girlfriend "The Baroness" to become a member.  Concur with all above... Islam cannot legitimize itself when there is not swift and strong opposition from...

    Facial Armour... Thoughts?

Methinks it would muffle the voice quite a bit... not too good for clearing rooms.  But I do agree with the extra protection in an exposed turret.

    Hanwag Alaskan Boots.

I e-mailed Danner about that very thing, and they said as long as there was not excessive polishing, that the Goretex would not get plugged up.  But that being said, I want the boots to last, not be shiny.  I'm going to leave them be for a bit and see how they turn out.

    Hanwag Alaskan Boots.

I need the extra width, so no problem there.  I also love the Sole footbeds, but I don't know if I will have enough room in the boots.  I will wait to see what they are like when they stretch out a bit.

    Hanwag Alaskan Boots.

Just got my Hanwag Alaskans today.... wore them for a full 10 hours right out of the box, and no blisters.  SWEEET BOOTS!  I can already tell that when they break in more, they will be even more comfortable.  I would have gotten the Hanwag Special Forces boot as it is black, but I hate d-ring...

    Rebuilding the RCMP

I can say without a doubt that the "civilianization" of RCMP Depot has affected the quality of recruit coming out of Depot.  There seems to be a whole lot more "me, me, me" attitude in many recruits coming out of training.  Depot used to be tough.  They broke you down, and made you what they...

    Rebuilding the RCMP

The problem is that the RCMP committed to a hiring freeze just like the CF for awhile.  Now you have a large portion of the Force that is at or near retirement time, and not enough replacements on the horizon.  I don't think it's a money issue.  The RCMP is fully funded.  But what they may need...

    Rebuilding the RCMP

We in E Div are expecting to run 200 vacancies by the end of the year.  That number could be as high as 800 by the end of next year.  The RCMP is in a crisis right now.

No idea... I didn't have that meeting.  Just the one broken into two parts.

    CBSA arming

Oh, don't worry... I agree 100% with that.  I have long said that our border guards should be armed.  And along with that, properly trained.  Just look at some of the things that get seized at the border.... (shudder...)

    RCMP Info, discussion

Not me... I had a 2 1/2 hr long interview, a break for lunch, and then another hr after lunch.  They told me that I would find out in the afternoon if I was moving along.  Needless to say I could hardly eat at lunch.

    CBSA arming

Better equipped, maybe...(they have a better pistol, but thats about it...) Better trained, I would have to disagree with.  RCMP training, and indeed ongoing training is recognized as some of the best Law Enforcement training in the world.  But our place is not in border security enforcement. ...

My bad, your right.... I was thinking about the POPAT, and confusing it with the RPAT. Apologies, Fry... ;D

Should the Canadian Coast Guard be armed?

Absolutely arm them, and make whatever changes it takes to do so.  We are living in a new age that the nicey, nicey, 1970's version of Canadian Ideals does not fit into.  I would like to see the Canadian Coast Guard become an integral and essential part of border integrity and security.  To do...

    CBSA arming

That would be an interesting point... why not schedule random OP's and Coyote OP's, with the premise that any suspicious activity would be reported to local enforcement for action?  The OP's could guide the members right in, without having to take direct action unless directly engaged...

Fry... I don't know where you are getting this RPAT stuff from, unless you are in the application process for a municipal Police force.  The RPAT is not a part of the RCMP recruitment process. The only physical testing that the RCMP conducts is the PARE.  And when I went thru the application...
