Are we becoming too Politically Correct?

Gender theory does not come from science. As far as science is concerned the correlation between gender and sex is almost perfect. Gender theory comes from the social sciences which are anything but scientific. It has its roots in post modern literary criticism not biology and is based on the...

    2020-21 NCVA Legislative Program

About fucking time someone put it in terms politicians can understand. The ABC crowd hurt the Conservatives in 2015 and, while I think they were both short sighted and willfully ignorant of the rile the Liberals played in the NVC, they showed they can be a solid power block when you piss off...

Liberal MP Booted From Caucus Over ‘baseless and Dangerous’ Claims About Colleagues Jan/25/ 2021

Was it to pander to the Tamils or was it because the Sri Lankan government is barely better, if at all? Sometimes neither side is worth supporting.

Liberal MP Booted From Caucus Over ‘baseless and Dangerous’ Claims About Colleagues Jan/25/ 2021

Well they did invite a convicted Khalistani terrorist to an official dinner. https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/trudeau-india-atwal-controversy-1.4546502 And they have been criticized by indian Government leaders for allegedly covering for the Khalistani movement...

    VAC wait times

That has always been my biggest complaint with VAC. They always seem to say one thing while doing another. They are a blackhole of information and in some cases seem to be deliberately misleading.

    Obtaining Degree While Working

I'm generally not a fan of the Legion but they have managed to come up with a good joint program with BCIT. They have a lot of programs which are maybe more relevant to the NCM who isn't looking to be come an officer and do a full four year degree. They also have a few degree programs as well...

Meanwhile back at the perpetually offended tent/Infidel tattoo questions

I knew I was being harassed. I think we need a class action lawsuit against Tall Privledge.

    VAC wait times

Wait. What? That's like 3 weeks. I'm at like 18 months. How did even happen? Was it sexual favours because I'm not opposed to that at this point?

Military bases struggling with personnel shortages, internal review finds

The last person to push change thru was Hillier and it actually ended up making things worse. He only managed to get half way thru before he retired and then they tried to revert back to the old way while still keeping the new commands. It slowed things down rather than making us more agile...

Poor IT support hurting Canadian military operations, internal review finds

I can't count the number of times a week I can't access something for work either because the internet is down, Dwan is down or someone moved a resource but the link wasn't updated. A few weeks before Christmas all non essential personnel were sent home for the afternoon because the network was...

Military bases struggling with personnel shortages, internal review finds

It's the play hard part that is deader than a door nail. I remember being looked into a compound for a Xmas dinner. The booze flowed freely, everyone had fun, we were all drunken animals but the CoC kept the nonsense to a minimum. Fights were quickly broken up and the offenders sent to bed under...

Army commander vows to issue special order to weed out extremists in the ranks

I'm not arguing otherwise, what I'm saying is that, like wider society, we will have a few bad apples in our midst. However that is a problem with those particular individuals not the CAF as a whole.

Army commander vows to issue special order to weed out extremists in the ranks

You can tell they are biased based on their quotes in the article. "Anyone paying attention to the news lately knows that this is an issue that keeps cropping up. I think this is a chance to create meaningful change within the CAF as an institution..." He has decided change is required even...

    Aircrew NCMs and ranks

Maybe a 5Bs after their 5As? Or better yet put deserving Cpls on PLQ before they get promoted. This would have the added benefit of the people who get promoted  being actually qualified to hold their new ranks.

    VAC wait times

Wait times continue to rise, despite more assurances that VAC is training more people and that the government is focused on helping Veterans during Covid. Maybe they are focusing on existing clients (although I haven't heard boo from anyone). I had review completed at 65 weeks, and my current...

    New Veterans Ombudsperson Named

I'm sure she will try to do good but that office isn't capable of solving any of the major problems. They have very little funding and can only offer recommendations to the minister. The last 2 Ombudsmen (as well as the CAF ombudsman) have all argued the ombudsman should report directly to...

    VAC wait times

Just received notification my departmental review has been completed. Still don't have a decision letter but it was 452 days between SSD and completion. That's just shy of 15 months. It's actually pretty close to the wait time tool estimate, which is surprising.

What book are you reading now?

I'm reading Cynical Theory by Helen Pluckrose and James Lindsay. https://www.amazon.ca/Cynical-Theories-Scholarship-Everything-Identity_and/dp/1634312023 In it they chart how Postmodern thought morphed into today's Theory (capital emphasized) as applied in Critical Race Theory, Queer studies...
