    A-10 Warthog

If we he have a high enough threat environment to worry about the A10s being shot out of the sky for lack of countermeasures i sincerely doubt a rotor is going to stay flying for very long on the FLOT. Since no gunship MV-75 is in development, US Army wants two distinct platforms, thats a non...

    A-10 Warthog

So far 1, but they were the most shot down aircraft in the Gulf War. To which i provided examples very much against. Thats youre experience, not a fact. Im fairly positive i work with a wider variety of pilot communities, especially fighters, than most people on this site. Love of their...

What you actually said was pilots hate it. Then said essentially that all pilots love third machines. If you'd written what you just did I'd agree, but you didn't.

    A-10 Warthog

Provide me an example ! Provides examples No a more specific example to reaches my new goal post! Im obviously not going to get into specific aircraft capabilities and why some pilots prefer x or y on an open board. This isnt Warthunder.

CF18 pilots, former A10 guys on F35, Griffin pilots, Cyclone Pilots... the Hungarians weren't huge Gripen fans. Oh uh the Poles didnt like any of their soviet helos.

    A-10 Warthog

You've obviously never met an A10 pilot, or a former one. I expect they prefer hearing a helicopter. Bit of a different role though, OV 10s controlled CSAR so you knew the mission was happening.

In my experience they don't include air craft meals in claims. Since none of the domestics offer them anymore its jusr not a thing. Now hotel breakfasts on the other hand

    A-10 Warthog

F16s are the most available platform in the US. The 6k vs 8k operating costs is probably offset by cross platform requirements and "survivable" isnt a suitably defined term, infact twice as many A10s were lost in the Gulf War as F16s. Youre making the fundamental nerd error where you assume...

I sincerely doubt theres more or less psychological effect to the masses based on the platform.

    A-10 Warthog

Right which is why I commented specifically to that. Theres a number of ways for us to give a pilot the ground picture. Frankly its pretty cursory because we provide restrictions to keep friendlies safe. Its not like pilots are arriving on station and getting read to every friendly position.

On rereading what @FJAG is suggesting - calling for and conducting terminal guidance of air or ground launched motions - is a JFO task. No reason to train people up as JTACs to do it.

    A-10 Warthog

Multiple targets is fine, and normal. However attention doesnt drop at identification of target. Id argue that @FJAG 's assertion that target identification is a primary task is starting off on the wrong foot. Overwhelmingly we are moving back and taking targeting data from other sources...

Canadian modular assault rifle project, a C7 replacement?

I got my sash paid for by my dues - the sash can be ordered for free off Logistik. I had to pay for my stick.... and all my accoutrements

The entirety of the PPCLI was deeply perplexed that not buying them was an option

Canadian modular assault rifle project, a C7 replacement?

We do rifle drill like once ever 3 years so I'm sure we can think of more important things.

Canadian modular assault rifle project, a C7 replacement?

Or we could do something crazy and just do drill in a way thats appropriate for our weapons.

Informing the Army’s Future Structure - CAMO Discussion

Conversely i never wanted to go back after deploying. You're ignoring that Ukrainians are 5 weeks to arrive at a unit. The better comparison is 9 week basic and RQ1 to the Ukranian five weeks. If a Ukranian arrives at a unit thats been rotated out theyll training collectively as well.

Informing the Army’s Future Structure - CAMO Discussion

That is objectively untrue. Reserve units have lobbied, are lobbying, and will continue to lobby to resist restructure. There is a reason why 2 Can Div has 10 Brigades. Reserves have, infact, deployed sub units and sub sub units. It just takes a Brigade or two to deploy a sub unit. Case it...

The point puck chaser is making is that if the reserve embraced that augmentation roll they'd adopt a structure optimized to perform it.
